In addition to the documents themselves, the book provides historical context, detailing the events that led to their creation and the necessity of each. It explores the circumstances surrounding the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, the Constitution, the amendments that form the Bill of Rights, and amendments 11-27 all of which were critical to the founding and development of the United States. The Constitution of the United States serves as the supreme law of the land, embodying the principle of separation of powers within the federal government.
The Declaration of Independence articulates the grievances of the Thirteen Colonies and justifies their break from the Kingdom of Great Britain, with representatives from all original colonies signing the document. The Articles of Confederation established the initial framework for a wartime government during the Revolution. Finally, the Bill of Rights, comprising the first ten amendments to the Constitution, was introduced after the Revolution to ensure specific protections of political rights and personal freedoms, further solidifying the principles of the new republican government.

Constitutional law, rights, and freedom!
