About this listen

Surrounded by death.

Tethered to a fate she didn't choose

The only hope for those she loves.

This is the reality for Abbigail Norrington - and she doesn't give up easily.

Earth is quickly becoming an undead wasteland, that much is for sure. What isn't certain is the fate of her three children, as their desperate bid to find safety at their family cabin is cut off by the revelation of world-altering proportions. What seems like a lifetime ago, the secret battle to be the first superpower to perfect the perfect bioweapon has been corrupted into a scourge now headed straight for them.

Suddenly Abby's past becomes just as unclear as her future. Could any of this be true? Could she or her husband have had a hand in creating this encroaching doom?

Now the die has been cast, and although Abby may not have had a choice in her part at the beginning of the end, she sure as hell has one now: save them, Abby. Save them all.

How far will one woman, mother, and friend go to secure salvation denied to many at the edge of oblivion? Shaken by the memory of the man she thought she knew and unsure of what nightmares lay ahead, Abby must ready herself for the reckoning.

The time for uncertainty is over. The time has come to fight: the living and the dead.

Beware the specter of death, but even more a woman's wrath.

From one of Forever Morris Publishings' best-selling authors comes the bundle everyone has been waiting for. Z-Strain, a heavy-hitting, skin-crawling thrill ride of a zombie-apocalypse series, is now available in one giant bundle! More than 243,000 words, jam-packed with zombies, will keep you up late into the night, until your eyes are more bloodshot than the undead, and you physically can't listen any more.

This is a fictional story that includes some language and gory violence. Recommended for mature listeners who are fans of TWD, World War Z, Dawn of the Dead, and all other zombie-apocalypse fiction.

Dang

The only bad thing I have to say about this book... it left me hanging. lol I would love more and more to see how the babies change and grow. The narration is alright, a little monotone but you get used to it.

Very good

I liked the way sections start with the character name. Awesome narrator except she sounds so so much younger than the female character lead. Worth a credit.

Awesome trilogy!

Lots of twists and turns. Something is always lurking around every corner and it keeps you interested. I would recommend these books to anyone and will be listening to it again soon! I know at first it may take some time to get used to the narrator but stick with it and after a chapter or two you’ll see how good she does at bringing the book to life!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review

Zombies

This was a fun thrilling and gory tale. It does the genre proud. You’ll feel for the protagonists and despise the villains.

Review

The story line was interesting but the narrator spoke in a very monotone voice with little inflection.

Dull Narrator...smh

This trilogy would be a Fantastic listen but the narrator has no passion, inflection and only 1 octave to her voice. I could never get that the heroin of the story had any feelings despite what 'she said' as to everything sounded as if 'The Dry Eye commercial dude was speaking.
I should be embarrassed to admit I changed out another trilogy for the same reason. So I was bound to listen through to the end l. As an avid reader for 30+years I must finish swapped books. I Would Live to listen to this trilogy again If someone else could do it right.
Side Note: The audible I swapped the narrator was a male and this is a female, so it's the same for both no they do not bring the story or characters to life.

Narrator the worst I have ever heard

The content of the book was not bad but very unbelievable even for a zombie book. I love this genre and this story had some added interesting dimensions. However the enjoyment was lost with the narrator. I felt like pulling my hair out

Worst. Narrator. Ever.

The story has a lot of interesting turns that your standard zombie storyline doesn't have. The dialog is unbelievable -- it's like it's trying to be Aaron Sorkin but ends up sounding like ChatGPT. I can't tell if it's the actual written dialog, or this absolutely horrible narrator. It sounds like bad AI -- completely devoid of inflection, completely ignorant of mood, and recited instead of read; that is, there is clearly no understanding of the material. Paragraphs about how dinner was are recited in the same tone as paragraphs about major characters being murdered.

A lot of potential here, but deserves a real voice actor reading it.

Excitement throughout all three books

I enjoyed this series and want to hear more! There are very interesting questions to be answered hopefully in the next book. I am looking forward to it.

You don’t know what you’ve lost till it’s gone!

The viral apocalypse is in full swing as we begin. The first volume of this trilogy introduced us to Abbigail Norrington (Abby) and her three children trying to get to safety at their cabin some miles away. Before Abby’s husband Jack’s death, he contacted some of his closest soldier friends telling them of Abby and the cabin. Those soldiers prepared the cabin’s defense and waited for Abby and the children to arrive. The story gains traction and intensity in volume two as it details the cabin under attack by the infected. Introduced were Dr. Brigantine and her plans to save the world. Abby is kidnapped by Brigantine since Abby’s rare condition is the primary source for her plans. Escape from the mad Brigantine and foiling her plans are the focus in volume two. Volume three details Abby and her motherly condition. The zombies are evolving, turning even more dangerous than before. The search for an antidote continues while the plans of the late Dr. Brigantine are still a threat. At this point, the story has several plot lines to resolve to a satisfactory conclusion. While the trilogy had a faint YA feel to it, it held my interest to the end. The story would have been much better without the monotone, speed-reading narrator. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
