Story
In a small Arizona town, a man counts his blessings: a loving wife, two teenage daughters, and a job that allows him to work at home. Then "The Store" announces plans to open a local outlet, which will surely finish off the small downtown shops. His concerns grow when "The Store's" builders ignore all the town's zoning laws during its construction. Then dead animals are found on "The Store's" grounds. Inside, customers are hounded by obnoxious sales people, and strange products appear on the shelves.

Story
Opulent doesn't begin to describe the Arizona getaway where Lowell Thurman, his wife Rachel, and their three young sons have come for one glorious week. Everything at The Reata is perfect - although Rachel is a bit unnerved by the openly lustful gaze of one of the gardeners, something she doesn't mention to Lowell. Nor does he tell her about the frightening sensation he has in the pool of hands clutching at him, trying to pull him under.

After his divorce, Hunt Jackson decides to start over in Tucson, where an old buddy fixes him up with his wife's friend, Beth. The attraction is immediate, and they're married a few months later. The festival was intended as a getaway from UCLA for Gary, his girlfriend, Joan, and their friends. But soon after they arrive, Joan vanishes. Calls to her parents’ home yield only dead air. Her school records are gone. And there’s no evidence that Joan, or even her roommate, ever existed. Most disturbing of all is what they do find. Among Joan’s belongings is a prayer written on a small scroll. It’s a safeguard — and a warning — from something called The Outsiders. For Gary and his friends, it’s the only clue.

Brad Woods has performed a lot of autopsies, but never one like this. The body is purged of all blood. Fear has made Sue Wing run from the darkened school and into night, a fear so powerful she can only name it using the Cantonese myths of her grandmother: Cup-hu-girngsi, the corspe who drinks blood. Reporters like Rich Carter don't believe in the supernatural, but all the signs are pointing to the same conclusion: a vampire is stalking the streets of Rio Verde. No, Rich Carter doesn't believe in such things. Not yet.

The janitors no longer work nights because of what they hear. The students are frightened by what they see. And things are happening on school grounds that defy rational explanation. But there is an explanation. It’s just not anything that anyone can begin to believe — or hope to survive.

They said write what you know so that's what I did. I wrote dirty, I wrote erotic, I wrote the truth. And then they called me a liar. But it's not me who's lying, it's them. Our story isn't for everyone. It's not even for us. So if you're looking for the fairy tale and the stupid prince on his dumb white horse, move along. You've got a hold of the wrong book. This is not your story, this is not your life, and this is not your opportunity to dip your frightened little toe into the dark pool of water and "try new things" and then pull it out and decide... #NotForMe.

Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Story
It’s the summer of ’77 in New York City, and the only thing more unnerving than the scorching heatwave is the rampant murder, leaving washed-up homicide detective Richard Dietrich on edge. When Dietrich investigates a brutal mob hit the brass doesn’t want him to solve, he goes from phoning it in to getting in over his head. Caught up in a mysterious second homicide with an even more perplexing perpetrator, Dietrich starts to second guess his instincts—and his memory—as he searches for answers at the bottom of a bottle.

As the daughter of a drug dealer, Wavy knows not to trust people, not even her own parents. It's safer to keep her mouth shut and stay out of sight. Struggling to raise her little brother, Donal, eight-year-old Wavy is the only responsible adult around. Obsessed with the constellations, she finds peace in the starry night sky above the fields behind her house until one night her stargazing causes an accident. The stories totally make up for the bad editing
I loved this collection (which I understand is the second) so much, I will immediately purchase the first one!
Be warned: There is no pause between stories AT ALL! The title of a story often sounds like the last word in the sentence being spoken.
You will not have much problems dealing with the poor editing if you always pay close attention whilst listening. If you drift off for a second though, you will be well into the next story without knowing the last one even ended.
Even though I felt like the editing left much to be desired, I felt like the stories made up for it, and then some.
All in all, I enjoyed this book immensely!

Irritating
Some stories were very good while others were made mediocre by the editors. When a story was finished, the narrator immediately set up the next story which affected the final thoughts of the finished story. After the setup, a short musical interlude was played. Would have been better to put the interlude after the story and before the setup. Overall decent.

Whoever put this audio together....
The short stories are delightfully off the wall and I love it. The narrator is good too. But whoever put this audio together did a terrible job. Whenever the narrator states the title of the next story it's done so a breath after the sentence of the last story and if you're not ready for it, you're confused as to what happened to the last story. A pause in between the last sentence and the next story title would've gone a long way. It sounds like someone tried cutting corners and jammed the audio together. That's disappointing because Little's tales are bizarre and you need a second to absorb them.

Great stories, terrible editing
Any additional comments?
I loved listening to these Bentley stories. Unfortunately, whoever did the editing did a really poor job. All the stories ran together like a single sentence. There was no pause to let me know a new story was beginning and I had to rewind several times because of this. It was confusing and frustrating.

Not the best...
Half of the stories didn't seem to have endings! They abruptly and randomly ended. But because the narration didn't even pause, you often didn't realize that a new story began.

Bentley Little, Volume 2
This audiobook was good, but not as good as Volume 1. A lot of the same stories were put on Volume 2 that we're from Volume 1. The narrator was ok. I think it would have been presented a little bit better if there were multiple voices narrating. It would have painted a better picture for the stories.

Quite Good!
Some of the stories are quite good and leave you wanting more, but keeping with the Noir feel of the era. They are short and sweet. Overall, I found them enjoyable.
