During Christmas break, Julia and her daughter, Becky, head down to the Florida Keys for a month of birdwatching, snorkeling, boating, and fun with Julia’s two friends and fellow RV nomads Dottie and Penelope. The day after Julia and Becky arrive, a rival birding club, the dreaded Tampa Tanagers, show up. They’ve come for the prestigious annual Florida Keys birding competition, which the Tanagers have won for several years running—probably through cheating. Julia’s friends, Dottie and Penelope, are determined to win the competition this year, and they’re counting on Julia and Becky to help them.
On the first day of the competition, the head of the Tanagers, retired University of Florida ornithologist Dr. Helga Byrd, is found dead on a small island near Big Pine Key. The competition is called off, but now Julia is thrown into yet another murder investigation. As usual, the authorities are entirely off base, and it’s up to Julia, Becky, and Julia’s friends, to solve Dr. Byrd’s murder. Nothing is straightforward, though. Things quickly go from bad to worse, and Julia’s daughter becomes a potential victim of a psychopathic killer.

Greaet Book
Her series A Julia Lives in a Van is great! Her story lines are well plotted. She kept me entranced the whole time I was listening to her book. I wanted to follow her, but I did not have that selection on audible. I will watch for her closely in the future.
