About this listen

Edmund has a secret.

Besides working as a gardener at Harbo’s Garden Center, he has a separate existence on the dark web, where he is known as Raoul153. There, he flirts with the notion of eating people. This idea comes from his grandmother, who tells him stories about the history of his ancient ancestors, the Cannibal Gardeners of New Guinea.

Surprisingly, many share his dark interest. Some even volunteer to be his main course.

One of the people he encounters on the dark web is someone he one day meets in real life. Her name is Denise, and she isn’t one of his volunteers, but is a force to be reckoned with. Her goth sensibilities and morbid interests make her a perfect match for Edmund. Or so he thinks.

She’s not so sure.

And yes, there is a real cannibal on the loose for them to contend with, and he's bringing along a friend.

The Cannibal Gardener combines chilling, supernatural suspense with a love story and generous doses of humor from a master storyteller.

A Spine-chilling horror

The Cannibel Gardener by Joe Pawlowski definitely knows horror. If you're a fan of mystery, suspense, and horror, this is the one for you.
I'm a sucker for a good 'ol serial killer story, and the author did not disappoint.
The author did a great job with character- building and also grabbed the reader with a twist of bloody scenes and gripping suspense.

A new Twist to Fairy Tales

This was a nice afternoon read for me. I enjoy the background of fairy tales. cannibalism isn't my thing when it comes to horror. the story was decent. I would recommend it if you like any of these subjects.

Narrator was really good with pretty decent production for an independent book.

Decent Quick Read

I really liked the idea of this story, but I felt like the ending fell a bit flat. I feel like there could have been more. The narrator was okay, but overall a decent little horror story.

Unflinching violence

This book definitely doesn’t shy away from describing every gory detail and that’s a good thing. A stranger of unknown origin travels from place to place horrifically murdering people. The book is too short for sure. I wanted more. On the plus side, you might as well try it cuz it won’t take you long to read but I really wish it had been fleshed out more. See what I did there?

A pretty good one.

The narration wasn’t the greatest but it was decent. I really loved Joe’s writing style and wording. The story itself was good but felt like it was missing something. I guess I just wanted more from it.

A bit exciting

This book had good potential but the end was a bit low. Narrator was not that great.
