Compelling story

I like this author very much. I really liked the overall narrative arc. The details about how the main characters lived were interesting and their context was well developed. The violence seemed excessive and definitely gratuitous at times.

I always enjoy Stephen Graham Jones works. This is no exception. Highly recommend this if you enjoy horror fiction. It will not disappoint.

Authenticity

I loved this in its entirety. The characters, the development of the story line as well as the feeling that I was there.

Couldn’t put it down

Incredible performances, and Stephen’s vampires are such a special kind of dark and grotesque. This story broke my heart, disgusted me, excited me, and I found myself late to meetings just to listen to it for a little bit longer. Definitely my new favorite among his works.

Compelling Story, unique format, genre blending, excellent narration

This is a tremendous listen and read. Compelling, haunting, thoughtful, challenging—everything you could ask for in a genre blending novel. The narration is exceptional and the narrative will stick with you. Highly recommend.

Great Work

Loved everything but the final chapters. Not sure why the audio style had to change. Other than that it is amazing and worth listening. I didn’t find it scary at all but more so emotional. The author really makes you feel Good Stab’s pain and suffering.

Great book!

Everything about this book is so well crafted. As a writer, I'm envious. I'm so tired of the glorification of the American West and programs that promote a Libertarian myth version of it. There's so much actual horror in the history of the 'Wild West' and although this is a vampire story, it nails it.
