I'm glad I found this!

The idea behind this story captured me almost immediately! The detail that Elias goes into when describing events is absolutely twisted and amazing at the same time. I use Audible for my hour commute to and from work each day. This story made me wish for a longer ride, just so I could continue listening. I can not wait for the "Return to the Black Farm" to be finished recording!

So Good, So Dark.

If you like truly dark horror that doesn't pull any punches this is the book for you.

Absolutely brilliant. I wish there was a sequel.

Amazing

It takes a lot for a book to keep my attention, and this book definitely did! I'll be looking out on Audible for more books from this author!

Haunting

I finished reading this book about a week ago, but I needed a few days to process the story because it’s been a long time that I’ve read something that impacted me so much. I went into this story blind. I’d seen several good recommendations for it and that was enough to get me to read it. And I’m glad I did.

After Nick and his girlfriend Jess take their lives, they wake up in a place on the other side known as “The Black Farm” where they’re quick to learn that their suffering is far from over. One thing is made clear to them—the Pig is the only way out of the Black Farm. But Nick is determined to find another way out. Will he succeed where no one has before?

The emotion in this story was the thing that stood out the most. From the opening chapter onward, the author wraps such real emotions into everything that the characters do. The growth of Nick as he travels through the Black Farm was my second favorite. Not only did I find myself rooting for him, I was constantly surprised at how he adapted for the next stages of his journey.

Dark and powerful, this is a definite must read for all horror fans.

Where to start?!?!!!

First and foremost and I have said this many times before, Tom Jordan is by far the absolute best narrator. He could read the dictionary and I would listen to it!

This book was such a ride, that I can't even correctly find the words to describe this story.
This is my first book by the author & will not be the last!

The writing perfectly flowed, the story sucked you in and you felt everything these characters were going thru. There are many "triggers" in this story such as suicide, body harm, and extreme gore. I am usually not a fan of extreme gore, but it went so well into the premise of this story, I had to just get through it to get to the other side, because I needed to get to the other side!

For a horror book that did consist of horrific mind-bending despicable gore, the meaning behind it was quite profound. It's one of the first hardcore horror books that made me actually think about life and what we as humans believe in.

And now my journey continues as I delve into the sequel, Return To the Black Farm. I'm horrified and truly scared, but I have to return to see how this plays out. .. and that it's perfect story telling!

Amazing.

I gave 5 stars for everything. Tom was brilliant in expanding his tones and making the characters thrive and come to life. Each character had a different voice and it was perfect. Story line flowed excellently and when you think one thing was bad it got worse and worse for the characters. The ending made me gag horribly since I have a phobia of people getting sick but this was an outstanding listen during my work hours. I absolutely need to purchase the next book. Like now.

Very good

The author’s story is a great journey through the aftermath of life with fresh ideas on the subject. Horrifying and relatable.
The narrator is one of the best voices I’ve heard and made this story really come to life.
Reminded me of Berserk, Dante’s Inferno, and the imagery depicted by Doré.

Absolutely love the story!

This is one of my favorite books so far! Loved the plot and story and the narrator in the story did an amazing job. It was emotional, scary, sick, and down right eerie. It had a silent hill meets wrong turn with monsters feel. Would love to read more works from this author!
