Publisher's summary
Discover the wonders of collecting coins and start your own coin collection with this ultimate beginner’s guide
Are you looking for a new activity that will be both enjoyable and rewarding?
Have you ever considered collecting coins but don't know where to start?
Starting a tiny collection of coins can be challenging if you're new to the hobby. It can be perplexing, especially if you don't yet know what you're looking for, because there are an infinite number of coin types, innumerable minute characteristics that affect coin prices, pricey mint variants, errors, and tough to discover counterfeits. However, things don't have to be that way.
The reasons for collecting differ from individual to person. Hobbyists are perhaps the most frequent form of collector, amassing a collection merely for the enjoyment of it, with no actual prospect of profit. The condition of a coin is crucial to its value in coin collecting; a high-quality sample is often worth several times more than a poor example.
In this special book, you will learn:
- Start your collection for free--- Everything you need to know to start collecting coins, you can grow your collection for free if you apply the simple methods described in this book.
- Know what coins are worth collecting--- Based on your preferences and previous experience, this book will help you decide which coins to focus on.
- Must-Have Tools and useful tips--- For preserving, cleaning, and storing your coins. To spot fake or counterfeit coins, and sell your collection and creating a coin-selling business.
- Designed for beginners--- Even if you’ve never collected coins before in your life, this brilliant book shows you all the dos and don’ts of coin collecting.

Coin collecting is a fun hobby.
The Big Book of Coin Collecting for Beginners is packed full of information about getting started in coin collecting as a hobby. Coin collecting sounds like a fun hobby, however, it is not a logical way to make money in the short term. There is a lot of care that must be taken to care for your coins; too little moisture, too much moisture, not polishing coins, handling coins by the sides only, using thumb and forefinger only, are just a few things you must pay attention to or risk causing damage to your coins. Timing to buy and sell your coins is important. There are historical implications of collecting coins, not just the monetary value. Coin collecting is a long term hobby. Start when you are young and go slowly by adding to your collection.

Great book
I have been a coin collector for years and I was able to learn quite a few tips and tricks from this quick listen. Great resource for anyone from a beginner on up. It's such a niche thing to be able to know which ones are valuable and how to start collecting without a lot of investment that this book is right on time!

A Treasure Hunt in Every Pocket Change
Remember that dusty tin full of old coins you found in the attic? This book turns that box of forgotten treasures into a captivating hobby. It goes beyond just values and tells the fascinating story of money, from ancient times to the modern day. Chapter on Brief History of Coins and Coin Collection was particularly engaging. It talks about famous coin collectors throughout history, like Cleopatra and King Tut! Who knew collecting coins could be so regal? It makes you wonder what stories the coins in your pocket hold. Now, I find myself looking at my change with fresh eyes, wondering about the history it might represent.

Complete Guide for the Newbie Coin Collector
The first thing I learned was the term: numismatics. Who knew? But, that is the beauty of this guide, this 'crash course' as it is so aptly named. As a complete coin collecting novice who has a desire and nothing else to offer, I was given everything I need to know, including the history of this fascinating hobby. Now I feel that I have the knowledge to search for, evaluate (fake coins are definitely a thing), buy, store and protect, and sell my coins. The short chapters make it easy to find what I need at that moment, to listen, get my answer, and move forward. This is a wonderful resource I will refer to again and again.
