About this listen

After 18 years of marriage, Kathy Walker has settled into a pattern of comfortable routines-ferrying her two teenagers between soccer practice and piano lessons, running a film production business with her husband, Robert, and taking care of the beautiful Boston home they share. Then one day, Kathy discovers a suspicious number on her husband's phone. Six years before, Kathy accused Robert of infidelity - a charge he vehemently denied - and almost destroyed their marriage in the process.

Now Kathy must decide whether to follow her suspicions at the risk of losing everything, or trust the man with whom she's entwined her past, present, and future. As she grapples with that choice, she is confronted with surprising truths not just about her relationship, but about her friends, family, and her own motivations.

Skillfully crafted and deeply insightful, The Affair sensitively explores the complexities of love and the challenge of ever knowing another person fully, even as we endeavor to understand our own deepest longings.

What a collection of self centered unattractive characters participating in a Groundhog Day word for word repetition times three of a very ordinary and corny domestic soap opera. I usually get suggestions for mysteries and somehow this showed up in my list of must reads - obviously an AI mistake

Groundhog Day

I loved the way the main characters’ personalities slowly unfolded as we learned more about them. The complexities of cheating in a marriage were built up to the final confrontation. It was real, gritty and authentically the story of two people who put everything else in front of nurturing their marriage.

This story does not disappoint!

It was a good story, but I felt like I read the same book 3 times. There was too much repetitiveness!

Read same book 3 times

This book is very raw, real and so true. I hope the second book comes out in audio too!!! It encompasses all 3 sides of an affair so you truly understand each persons point of view. Really eye opening!! Definitely worth a credit!!

Excellent

Well written and told by each persons point of view. I read this a few years back. I didn’t remember the ending. I read the fallowing book too, but i won’t pay to read it.

Well told…

Interesting turn of events and I enjoyed how the author built characters. This book kept me engaged and entertained

Perspective

It kept my attention just enough to not give up. It is a little slow. Read the description carefully. This book is about the details of an affair. Only the last 15 min were insightful.

Mostly good

I thought this was a very honest portrayal from all three sides. People who complain that it’s the same story over and over, partly, but it’s also from another person‘s point of view so you really have to listen. I don’t know what they were expecting an entirely different story? That wouldn’t make much sense. It was truthful and well acted with the exception of the narrator(whom my love)trying to do an Irish accent. Don’t. Just don’t. Other than that it was great.

It was honest

The story was written from the perspectives of the cheater, victim and other women… the story was okay but the story was told word for word 3 times which was a bit monotonous.

Repetition

The narrator paused too much. Made it very choppy . Enjoyed the story. Will not listen to the rest unfortunately
