In The 50th Law, hip hop and pop culture icon 50 Cent (aka Curtis Jackson) joins forces with Robert Greene, best-selling author of The 48 Laws of Power, to write a "bible" for success in life and work, based on a single principle: fear nothing.

With intimate stories from 50 Cent's life on the streets and in the boardroom as he rose to fame after the release of his album Get Rich or Die Tryin', as well as examples of others who have overcome adversity through understanding and practicing the 50th Law, this deeply inspirational book is perfect for entrepreneurs as well as anyone interested in the extraordinary life of Curtis Jackson.

What an Interesting Concept

What did you love best about The 50th Law?

This book was unexpectedly deep. The last chapter has to do with confronting our own mortality. This book aimed to unlock fears we all have and allow us to unleash our success by getting rid of them.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The 50th Law?

Did I mention this book is deep. It's not something you can ingest in 1 or 2 days. This will take a while to sink in and be digested.

Did 50 Cent and Robert Greene do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Ha! Well, um, yes. It was very easy to differentiate Robert Greene from Curtis Jackson.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from The 50th Law?

I really should spend time thinking about life, death, and all the things I need to do now and now wait until it's too late. What is the worst that could happen? What IF I lost it all, and had to get it back? Would I work even harder if I had nothing to lose?

Any additional comments?

I was expecting this to be more about 50 Cent. This book is NOT really about 50 cent. He makes a few cameo appearances here and there, but basically it's only tangentially related to him.

Insightful

A solid, timeles read promoting self reliant living through evolving mindsets encompassing mental strength, discipline, adaptation, & abandonment of entitlement attitudes. For audiences not familiar with environments people like 50 cent grow up in - it is an insightful depiction of culture shaping expectations and behaviors that develop said mindsets.
..with that said, narrator is pretty monotone and actually reading this (rather than using Audible) can be more impactful.

Modern example on obtaining power

I enjoyed the audio book but also bought the leather covered book. 50 cent’s life is the perfect example on how you can obtain power in a modern world, from dealing drugs on the street to running an empire. Wish the book had been longer but seeing it was written years ago, they wouldn’t have included 50 cent buying up VitaminWater and whatever other moves he’s made. Also I love Robert Greene’s books but he’s not the most exciting narrator lol.

This is 50's story over and over but still good.

Every chapter has some point where Robert Greene is reminding you of 50's origins from growing up in southside Queen's. Aside from this minor annoyance there is a lot of good material with 50 cent's triumphs that I Wish they spent more time on and even more inspirational stuff from famous figures of the past like: Lincoln, Fredrick Douglas, DaVinci, Napoleon and more. This books main focus is to show you the power you gain from overcoming fear, through the lens of all these stories of famous individuals. I only Wish there was more story for me to listen to.

Success Magnified the 50 way.

The story exaggerates the life and uprising of 50 cent in a good way. Hines sight is always 20 20 and Greene does a great job painting 50 into the history books as a never fallible business icon. Greene's background is in history and war so he understands how to write a cronical that will be used as reference 100 years from now. "When you create the history you can make it perfect." The advice and knowledge in the book is very entertaining and Greene does a fantastic job narrating the story. If you are interested in history, success, and a great story this book is for you.

While not a huge fan of rap I do like Robert Greene. $.50 and Greene offer great advice on how to make your own success in this life.
