About this listen

Based on the #1 New York Times bestseller The 5 Love Languages®(over 12 million copies sold),
Dramatically improve workplace relationships simply by learning your coworkers’ language of appreciation.
This book will give you the tools to improve staff morale, create a more positive workplace, and increase employee engagement. How? By teaching you to effectively communicate authentic appreciation and encouragement to employees, co-workers, and leaders. Most relational problems in organizations flow from this question: do people feel appreciated? This book will help you answer “Yes!”
A bestseller—having sold over 300,000 copies and translated into 16 languages—this book has proven to be effective and valuable in diverse settings. Its principles about human behavior have helped businesses, non-profits, hospitals, schools, government agencies, and organizations with remote workers.
PLUS! Each book contains a free access code for taking the online Motivating By Appreciation (MBA) Inventory (does not apply to purchases of used books). The assessment identifies a person’s preferred languages of appreciation to help you apply the book. When supervisors and colleagues understand their coworkers’ primary and secondary languages, as well as the specific actions they desire, they can effectively communicate authentic appreciation, thus creating healthy work relationships and raising the level of performance across an entire team or organization.
Take your team to the next level by applying The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace.

Such a great book on how to show appreciation in the workplace! For me this is the 5 love languages but for the workplace because it’s emphasis is appreciation which I believe is most fitting for the work type of relationships. Love it!

I have be attempting application of the love languages st my office for some time. This book has shown better how to understand work relationships and view affirmation and appreciation in this context.

Love vs Appreciation

If you listen/read with an open mind the context is fantastic! I loved the 5 love languages so discovering how those languages can apply in a work environment was exciting. Reader beware, this is a sales book. For six hours, the reader/author is convincing you to buy their product. It's the timeshare presentation of audiobooks. However, if you can read/listen objectively and skin past the sales parts, the content can be a valuable tool in your "Positive Work Culture" tool belt. Definitely a must read.

Listen with Open Mind- No code with audio book

I think this is an important concept to practice in the workplace and/or athome with your friends and family. However, I would have enjoyed more concrete tips regarding how to approach certain scenarios or a few basic steps, phrases to say, or reminder thoughts to think right at the beginning as you begin to implement the concepts. The last chapter of the books says they sent bi-weekly prompts to a team starting to use appreciation in the workplace and saw significant results but it didn't offer any of those prompts as a mere starter. Some advise was dispersed throughout the statistics and broad discussion, and those were appreciated, but they felt few and far between.

Would have enjoyed more practical tips.
