Lots of interesting info but somewhat disconnected

Tim Ferriss's first book (4-hour Work Week) set my expectations pretty high for this book, as did all the pre-launch hype. Unfortunately, I felt a bit disappointed in this book after finishing it.

The 4-hour Body contains a bunch of information on a wide variety of subjects relating to the human body. While much of it is interesting, I only found some of it actually useful, and I'd already read about some of these topics on the author's blog. Each topic is quickly and succinctly summarized, but the transition between topics is often too abrupt. There are also some conflicting portions of the book, such as "don't eat any fruit except on cheat days" vs. "drink one cup of grapefruit juice every day" (for example.)

For this book to be really beneficial to a reader, it's necessary to just focus on a few sections and implement those recommendations, because there is no way anyone could ever do all the things described in this book at the same time.

pretty bad job abridging unfortunately.

I got some useful information but definitely had to follow up with a lot of my own research. I think that was due to too much being cut from the book.

Phenomenal and Funny.

This book was very entertaining. For example, the author makes learning about thermodynamics and cryotherapy exciting, motivating, and hilarious. If you care about learning some easy things to do to impact your entire life, this book is a must & very fun. I also liked the narrators style and sound.

Inspiring, Yet a Erratically Confusing

Although so much if the content is clearly well researched, the presentation, at least in abridged audio format, left me confounded as to where to begin. It's like a choose your own adventure book, but I need a navigator.

Interesting ideas-difficult to assimilate

This may be one of those books that's better read than listened
to. I found the ideas fascinating but I need to go back and look at the material more closely. I need to find the PDFs online. So far I haven't been successful.

Goes from 'meh' to 'oh look, a squirrel!'

Tim starts with decent advise on how to shed weight then half way through the book goes way off course and talks about orgasms (always a good time, but here?) and other experiments he has used his body for. At the beginning of the book he warns about causation vs. correlation then later in the book gives advice based on correlation!

Overall the book was entertaining but didn't give enough good information to justify the price on audible. I think it is like thirteen dollars on kindle, that is closer to the value for me. The reading was well done though and the pace was easy to follow.

Excellent audio book

This is one of the best audio books I have listened to. Tim's "down to earth" approach and humourus details of his voyage to attain the data for his book keep the listener attentive and amused. Can't wait to hear more from Tim Ferris, You Rock.
