About this listen

His heart is unavailable. Luckily, her interest lies in the rest of him....

Though she was just a girl when they first met, Caroline Tolbertson's infatuation with David Cameron remains undimmed. Now fate has brought the handsome Scotsman back to Brighton for what promises to be an unforgettable summer. Soon, Caroline will have to choose a husband, but for now she is free to indulge her curiosity in things of a passionate nature. That is, if David will agree to teach her.

Past mistakes have convinced David that he'll make a terrible husband, though he'll gladly help the unconventional Caroline find a suitor. Unfortunately, she has something more scandalous in mind. As the contenders for her hand begin to line up, her future seems assured...provided David can do the honorable thing and let them have her.

When a spirited young woman is determined to break society's rules, all a gentleman can do is lend a hand...or more.

Sweet Story

What did you love best about Summer is for Lovers?

I loved the chemistry between David and Caroline. There wasn't much sex in this novel (only the last scene) but there was plenty of build up and I feel like the main focus was on the romance. Yes, there was some sexual tension, but so much more emotional connection and friction.

What about Lana J. Weston’s performance did you like?

All of her characters had slight variations to their accents. I love it when narrators do this, it makes it so much more authentic and you know who is talking without needing a textual reminder.

Any additional comments?

It's a really sweet story. The characters are very likable, though not too perfect, and genuine. The plot evolved nicely and I had emotional reactions to this book, but none too intense. It's a good book to read as a break from life or intense novels.

The talent of Jennifer McQuiston

I like Jennifer McQuiston's books! This is no exception.

Strong female lead. Troubled male lead. Good chemistry but neither will acknowledge it. I wanted to smack David at times and tell him to get over his previous loss. But a good story and a decent narrator.

Looking forward to downloading the next in the series.
