Publisher's summary

“She has the heart of a saint with the body of a sinner.”

Ozzy

A friend needed a favor. I needed a safe place and job until I was ready to start over. I found myself on a ranch in Virginia with a stubborn old man for a patient. After what happened to me five years ago, I don’t trust easily, if at all. Women and old men on their deathbeds? Bee’s knees, no problem. Outside of that, my walls are up. They are high, made of steel, and I will defend them at all costs. I am here to do a job. Nothing more. Jackson Rowe sees through my walls, though, and I don’t like it. Until I do. But what he doesn’t know is I see through his, too.

Jackson

My mother calls her a saint; my dying father calls her girlie; my siblings call her Hellraiser. Ozzy Davenport is all of that and more. She’s got a firecracker for a mouth, a sharp mind, and a body that fills out her nurses’ scrubs in a way I should not have noticed. I am confused by her. This woman, stunning for all that she is different from this place, yet she somehow fits right in. She protects herself so fiercely, and it makes me both protective of her and intrigued by her. Who is she, and what is she afraid of? I want to know more, but will it tear us apart before we’ve even had a chance?

Amazing!

DJ Krimmer is now my new obsession, and this book will go down as one of my favorites. DJ’s writing style is nothing short of perfection and these two narrators did amazing work. A must listen!

Broke my heart a rebuilt it!

The number of time the waterworks started made me want to throw my phone. The story is so emotionally charged, and the narrators made it believable.

This book brings hope to life after trauma

I don't want to give too much away because this book should be experienced as the characters learn and grow.

I will say this the way the author talks about and has the characters deal with trauma and grief is amazing. I know that sounds weird but bear with me and hear me out; although this is a dark romance and there is a happy ending, the way the main FL, Ozzy, deals with her pain is so on point and really this is not a story about finding a man and heals with love, its about finding someone who can help accept the trauma, because it will never go away, but finding a person, a family who will help heal ones soul.

Its an amazing book and it links a little I to the Hel’s series which is also fantastic. Please not this books with some heavy and dark themes but such is life, there will always be darkness but its about finding the people who will help lead oneself back into the light.
