About this listen

A shaft of argent starlight touched by the Forge of Reorx

Hilted and gemmed in the blood of heroes

Unite! Mountain dwarves of Thorbardin.

A kingsword at last, at last.

Deep in the cavern kingdom of Thorbardin, the powerful Stormblade is secretly crafted by an elderly dwarf-master. A Kingsword, it is intended to break the deadlock among the ruling council of Thanes.

When Stormblade is stolen and turns up years later, a series of exciting and deadly events are set in motion. Only a heroic dwarf knows the magic of the legendary blade, and he sets out to recover the lost weapon. To do so, he must travel to a land rife with war and treachery.

Great writing and characters

Great non Weis/Hickman stand alone. The narrator did a good job as well. My 2nd outing outside the main books.

absolutely phenomenal.

fantastic story and story telling. vivid characters, and you will get attached to them. I will be relistening to this many, many times, on road trips with family, and alone in the solem quiet comfort of my room. This story was absolutely amazing.

Still a good story.

I read this new and just finished it again for the second time.
I enjoyed it better the first time and if I read instead of listened I'd probably like it better. I'm just not a fan of Richard Topel. I know there's worse...
I do like audible books. I get to listen while I work. Got to take the good with the bad. ;)

huh?

Loved the story, but the ending screwed it up. Didn't Caramon and Tas find the hammer? story was good but didn't coincide with the timeline.

It's like the author never read dragonlance before

If this was the first dragonlance book you've picked up it might actually be good. But if you've read the works of Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, then it's horrible. Not a thing in this book is accurate to the original story. Characters, names, places, time line, plots etc are all completely wrong. It's a wonder if was allowed to be published. Curse "creative license". The author should be sued for defamation or something. These books from other authors are meant to fill in the story. Give further detail to events that are glossed over in the main series. This does nothing but make a mess of everything

doesn't feel like it belongs to this series

was a struggle to finish, characters are hard to differentiate due to lack of fore thought that u can't establish that many characters that quickly and expect the listener/reader to be drawn into their story
