About this listen

The people of Krynn have known war in past ages. Some are still alive who remember the triumph of good at the conclusion of the War of the Lance. Still more remember the devastation of the Chaos War, which ended the Fourth Age of the world.

But now a new war is about to begin, more terrible than any have known. This war is one for the very heart and soul of the world itself.

Great story horrible narrator.

I found the narrators voice so irritating I can't listen to this. Amazing story, if you can deal with her it's worth it.

Great Book

One of my favorite series of all time, wanted to go through it again except via audible. The narrator threw me off at first just because it wasn't what I expected but after getting used to the nasally tone and occasional mispronouncing of words I got settled in.

Excellent story and performance

Continuing the dragonlance series, Hickman and Weis take readers on a new journey with new characters and favorites alike. The progression of the series is well planned and brings a sense of fulfillment and closure to the previous books' characters. The performance by Herington is also well done. Characters have their own voices and personalities and you feel drawn into the story through her performance.

the narrator constantly mispronounced key names

found this most frustrating, Paul was a better narrator, and did better voice play, and acting.

Good story marred by odd non-standard pronuncation

What made the experience of listening to Dragons of a Fallen Sun the most enjoyable?

I enjoyed the story - as I have all of Weis and Hickman's previous Dragonlance stories.

What did you like best about this story?

The storytelling, the chance to visit old, well loved, characters

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Learn how to pronounce "glower" (it rhymes with "flower.")

There are a few other fairly common English words that she has cringeworthy non-standard pronunciations, but "glower" is the most common.

Story - Fabulous!! Narrator - ANNOYING!!

What did you like best about Dragons of a Fallen Sun? What did you like least?

I love the story especially the return of one of my favorite characters.

What other book might you compare Dragons of a Fallen Sun to and why?

All the other Dragonlance books are similar in feel to Tolkien's books.

What didn’t you like about Marieve Herington’s performance?

Listening to shon instead of shown and glow-er instead of glower is steadily driving me crazy. And that is not even talking about the elves sounding like hyper children (shouldn't that be the Kender?) or the mispronouncing of names. The narrator has a beautiful voice, too bad her pronunciations will have me avoiding anything she reads after this trilogy.

Wrong voice for the story

The squeaky voice made it very hard to picture the story to be nothing more than a children’s book

Dragonlance fan since the 90s!

Listen. I can forgive a lot of things. I remember when these books came out and thoroughly enjoyed the series. All of them. Sure, some of the readers on Audible are better than others. More dynamic. This reader is ok too. But 1 thing I can't forgive and am getting really tired of... is hearing different pronunciations of common names or places. Talk to the original authors are agree please. Keep notes. Pass it along to the next reader. PLEASE. Before you ruin more books Audible.
First they pronounced it "Ta-kai-sis", then "Ta-key-sis", now I'm hearing "Ta-kisses".
There are a few others - but this one keeps taking the cake.
So annoying!
I'm all for different imaginations - but for the readers and fans' sake... pick one and go with it please. The other high fantasy novels got their epic movies and time in the spotlight, why does Dragonlance constantly get flubbed?!
