About this listen

When the infamous King Richard dagger is stolen from Highland chief, Dugald MacKerrick, he will do whatever it takes to reclaim it, even abduct the wife of the aristocratic thief, but what if his beautiful French hostage isn't who he thinks she is? Deep in the rugged Scottish Highlands, Dugald discovers not only is his captive, Camille Bouchard, more than he expected, so is the passion raging between them, threatening everything he thought mattered to him.

Charming and Entertaining!

Another wonderfully entertaining romp from Vonda Sinclair! A charming romance filled with fun and likable characters. It is a laugh-out-loud ride in spots. Dugald MacKerrick discovers the valuable clan dagger has been stolen and must retrieve it by any means necessary. He has no inkling that when he kidnaps the French lass, he thinks will be his means of getting it back, that he is in for more than he bargained for. Camille Bouchard is on a shopping trip for her cousin, little did she know that she was in for the adventure of her lifetime. I loved this lighthearted, fun, romantic story. Camille is a spunky, delightful match for Dugald. Dave Gillies is so perfect for Vonda Sinclair’s stories with his Scottish brogue and flair for different voices. I enjoyed everything about this story and look forward to many more from this author and narrator.

Vonda Sinclair Does it again!

During his sister's betrothal party, Dugald's heirloom dagger is stolen by someone in her betroth's clan. When he talks to his future brother in law, he figures out he will get no help when they take off before daylight. Dugald decides to make the clan find the dagger and return it by kidnapping the wife of the clan's chief. Camille is an innocent bystander when she is mistaken as the wife of the chief, she is french and blonde and kidnapped by mistake. Will Dugald ever get his dagger back or will the error doom him into losing the leadership of the clan to his twin brother. Suspense, love, sex, kilts, and beautiful women make for a great story! Dave Gillies does a wonderful job bringing the characters to life! I literally could not turn it off until the end.

Action, Romance and adventure

This was such an enjoyable story. It was fast paced with plenty of action. Dugald was definitely the type of person who acted first and asked questions later! Camille is no shrinking violet either. However as much as they are attracted to each other, Dugald knows his clan would not approve of her as his wife. He also needs to find the stolen dagger that is so precious to his clan. It was good to read of characters that had been in previous books. As usual Dave Gillies gives an excellent performance, he really brings the scenes to life.

Hilarious to listen to while driving cross country

The whole story is one cliche after another, but the narrator's different voices were highly entertaining.
