About this listen

A new era of exciting adventures and shocking revelations continues to unfold, as the legendary Star Wars saga sweeps forward into astonishing new territory.

Civil war looms as the fledgling Galactic Alliance confronts a growing number of rebellious worlds–and the approaching war is tearing the Skywalker and Solo families apart. Han and Leia return to Han’s homeworld, Corellia, the heart of the resistance. Their children, Jacen and Jaina, are soldiers in the Galactic Alliance’s campaign to crush the insurgents.

Jacen, now a complete master of the Force, has his own plans to bring order to the galaxy. Guided by his Sith mentor, Lumiya, and with Luke’s young son Ben at his side, Jacen embarks on the same path that his grandfather Darth Vader once did. And while Han and Leia watch their only son become a stranger, a secret assassin entangles the couple with a dreaded name from Han’s past: Boba Fett. In the new galactic order, friends and enemies are no longer what they seem. . . .

Please note: There is no chapter 33 in this audiobook. This is intentional by the provider.

A Great Listen

This was my first listen from audible. I had already read book 1 of the Legacy of the Force series and decided to break in my Audible subscription with book 2 and did not regret it one bit. The audion effects enhance the overall experience rather than distract from the story. The narrator does an amazing job of keeping things going nicely. My only complaint is that this is abridged. I'd much rather have an unabridged version of these books.

would've got 5 stars overall if it was unabridged

the story was awesome, loved the boba fett story arc. nothing really bad to say except that it was abridged and it makes me wonder how much better it would've been if it was in it entirety. that being said, it was well abridged, which is almost never the case. u almost couldn't tell, short of some of the chapters were only about a paragraph long.

Voices from fate of the Jedi

The voices Marc Thompson used on Fate of the Jedi and the Thrawn series were spot on. If an unabridged version is done, he should do them that way. Story was good, abridged didn't hurt it as bad on this book.

Poor abridgment

It is hard to recognize that it is a Karen Traviss book. Much of the detail that is typical of her work has been cut out. Scene changes are abrupt and come with no warning.
Sadly to listen to the series we must suffer.

beautiful story

Great combination of prequels and original trilogy cannon. I wish they would have used this material for episodes 7-9.

Awesome insight into a story that fills the gaps

The backstory is very insightful and fielding a lot of missing information I never knew into certain characters and it also gave me information about why certain characters did what they set out to do and what how they became what they are.

Great for geeking out and passing the time.

I enjoyed the dialog and the delivery. Hearing of other characters tends to always pull me in with curiosity. Star Wars has always been a vast rich universe for me.
