The Republic is decaying, even under the leadership of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, who was elected to save the galaxy from collapsing under the forces of discontent. On the tiny but strategic planet of Ansion, a powerful faction is on the verge of joining the growing secessionist movement. The urban dwellers wish to expand into the prairies outside their cities–the ancestral territory of the fierce, independent Ansion nomads. If their demands are not met, they will secede–an act that could jump-start a chain reaction of withdrawal and rebellion by other worlds of the Republic.

At the Chancellor’s request, the Jedi Council sends two Jedi Knights, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luminara Unduli, to resolve the conflict and negotiate with the elusive nomads. Undaunted, Obi-Wan and Luminara, along with their Padawans Anakin Skywalker and Barriss Offee, set out across the wilderness. Many perils lie waiting to trap them. The Jedi will have to fulfill near-impossible tasks, befriend wary strangers, and influence two great armies to complete their quest, stalked all the while by an enemy sworn to see the negotiations collapse and the mission fail....

The Approching Storm

I have read the book long before the audiobook and I have favorite spots, unfortunately 2 of those spotss are missing because ths book is abridged or shorten. So I give the this book only 4 stars

not much in this

this seemed a little like lord of the rings. if you removing all the walking to and from things, nothing truly happens.

Great Story…

but too short to be worth the money. Recommend using one of your free tokens for this one.

meh, abridged.

it was an interesting book but felt more like a filler story. I also cant help but wonder if the abridged left out some important details.

Eh - better getting the paper back

If you love Marc Thompson and others then I suggest buying the paperback

The narrator brought back memories of the old tv show "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom" with the voice of Paul Harvey being as deadpan as possible.

Character voices are very similar which makes it hard to differentiate between who is chatting.

Good Read

This book provided small insights to the world of Star Wars. I loved the storyline and the way the plot unfolded. It was more then an interesting book to listen to.

It was a good pre Attack of the Clones novel. Allan Dean Foster is a good imaginative author.

Good Story, I’m a huge Obi-Wan Kenobi Fan!

The story was good I gave some back log information with my two favorite clone wars Jedi! And one turn coat Jedi in her Padawan days! Fine book!

I wish it wasn’t abridged

I truly wish this wasn’t abridged. I really enjoyed the story but I like the in-depth Star Wars books. It gives us a better understanding of our favorite characters.
