Spurgeon on the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ
Charles Haddon Spurgeon (June 19, 1834 — January 31, 1892), the "Prince of Preachers," pastored the New Park Street Chapel—later the Metropolitan Tabernacle—for 38 years. (The Metropolitan Tabernacle was built to accommodate his growing audience. It could seat 5,000 people and allowed for another 1,000 standing room.) He held his audiences spellbound before the advent of electronic amplification. Many of his sermons were transcribed and published in a number of languages.
The carefully selected sermons in this book focus on C.H. Spurgeon's teachings from the pulpit on Jesus Christ and on His great sacrifice. Through the blood of Jesus Christ, Christians experience the redeeming, cleansing, and preserving power that results in purification, sanctification, and atonement.
C.H. Spurgeon goes into great depth on a number of themes familiar to Christians but which, with the added insight and vision he provides, become new, vivid, exciting, and enlightening. These include baptism, justification, peace, communion, and reconciliation.
