Publisher's summary

Pierce

My death day is sacred. I spend it the same way I wish I could spend every day: alone in my isolated cabin, with a glass of wine in one hand and a book in the other. But when the scent of human blood shatters my solitude, I find James—unflappable, undeniably gorgeous, and utterly unafraid of me. He makes my blood boil and he stirs desires dormant for over a century. I must protect him, even if it costs me everything.

James

In the wake of my father’s passing, I go to our secluded camping spot in the mountains to scatter his ashes. It’s almost a full day’s hike from civilization and I expected to grieve alone. I never dreamed I’d get stranded by a freak snowstorm or that I’d be attacked by wolves. I certainly never imagined I’d meet someone like Pierce, the grumpy, overprotective, and annoyingly handsome vampire who saves my life. Now, snowed in and surrounded on all sides by the werewolves determined to turn me into one of them, my only protection is the vampire I’m inexplicably falling in love with.

***Snowed in with the Vampire Prince is a 36,000-word fated mates novella with an HEA, instalove, a fair amount of hurt/comfort, and no cliffhanger. This is book 1 in the Blood Bonded Mates series. This book contains mild violence, strong language, spicy scenes between men, and passages depicting consensual blood drinking, as one might expect from a MM vampire romance.

This book is intended for mature audiences.

Great story

I really enjoyed the story by this author, and I was eager to hear it read out, but I just couldn't connect with the narrator. I think I expected Pierce to have a deeper voice in my mind, and when it wasn't I felt some disconnect with the story after a while. This is just my personal experience and in no way is the narrator bad, just not what I wanted when listening to this story having read it myself beforehand. I would definitely recommend this audiobook to others if you havent read the book yet and have no previous imagination formed from the authors words. I have read the other books in the series and this author is one of my favourites!

InstaLove

Vampire/Human Bond. Paranormal. MM. Forced Proximity. SLOW BURN. Spice 1.5. Nice World Building. Sweet Story

I read this book a few months ago and loved it but this audio did not improve my overall feelings for the book. The narrator's interpretation of the text was a bit of a miss for me as well as the tone he chose for each character.
I recommend reading the book absolutely!

A stellar debut!

I honestly can't believe that this is Jay's debut novel. It's simply excellent. While it is technically a novella, it still felt like a full book to me. Yes, it's "fated mates" and vampires and whatnot, but nothing felt rushed at any point. The way the romance developed and the bond between James and Pierce formed was paced perfectly and it felt realistic, in a way. This is quite a feat when you also consider that most of the story takes place over roughly twenty-four hours.

James and Pierce are perfect for each other, without a doubt. They're both exactly what the other needs desperately and share some common ground regarding their traumas and hang-ups. Despite Pierce being a vampire and James a human. I absolutely adored both of them.

The writing is also amazing. I could not put this down even if I tried. It hooked me from the start and didn't let me go. I already had an inkling that I would grow to love Jay's work after reading the novella that comes before this one, Embracing his Vampire Mate, but this one just solidified it for me. I am, without a doubt, a fan now.

So really, what else can I do but dive right into Nathaniel's story? There's no choice, let's be real. Read this book, I mean it! Don't miss out on this, I promise it's worth it.

Audiobook Review:

Now, I don't often listen to audiobooks because I tend to get too distracted to pay much attention to them. But I loved this book so much that I had to give the audio a try when I got the opportunity to listen to it. And I really liked it! I loved the narrator. He managed to keep my attention, though that is also a major credit to the author, of course. I'm glad this book is just as gripping in audio form as it is in ebook form. So, if you're someone who prefers audiobooks, definitely give this one a go. Actually, please give this one a go because it deserves all the love.

Loved this book

Snowed in with the Vampire Prince is the first book in the Blood Bonded Mates series. This is the story of Pierce the vampire prince and James a human. Pierce wants to spend his death day at his cabin alone while James has gone alone to spread his father's ashes at their favorite camping place. Pierce saves James from wolves who attacked him and they are snowed in together because of a blizzard. I really enjoyed watching these two fated mates work together to figure everything out. This is a great start to the series. Jay Castle is an amazing author and I look forward to the next book in the series. If you get the audio narration, Richard Pendragon does a wonderful job of narrating this book. He makes the change in characters seamlessly. I can't wait to listen to the next book. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

good story

I previously read the book and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the narration just didn't match the tone of the story. The story is full of action and energy that was lacking in the narration. In addition, the character voices didn't have a good range of distinction.

A wonderful performance of a Jay Castle story!

After having read all 4 books from this series I was thrilled to hear there was an audio book available. I am a voracious book worm and get a kick out of listening to audio versions of my favorites. Richard Pendragon's performance was fantastic. I was initially taken a-back by his portrayal of James the almost timid voice was not something that I would have attributed to the character. After listening for another chapter I realized that Pendragon isolated something that I must have missed in my own reading. The story was told beautifully! Now, slight warning for those similar to myself who listen to books while working or surrounded by others.... I hope you can control yourself, even after having read the book myself and knowing the story very well, I was still laughing out loud by chapter 3! And it has been brought to my attention that since masking is not as common an occurrence anymore, I have lost the ability to control my facial expressions!! 😳 oops. At least now some of my coworkers will be purchasing the book, so not all bad. lol

Great Read!

I received a free copy of this audio book for review. I had read the print version of the story before this review as well. I enjoyed the narrator. He did a good job with the story. This is a good story! The characters gave us background to understand both and I loved their connection. There was romance, drama, fear, fighting, and an adorable HEA. This is also a great start to a series. I have lots of questions about lots of things! I’m sure they will be answered as the series goes along. I highly recommend it!

Beautifully Narrated

Richard Pendragon did a fantastic job bringing Pierce and James to life. I never knew I needed to actually hear Pierce till now. Kudos for bringing them to life and for doing it justice.

Emotional and passionate romance

Both the narrative and the story are excellent. The narrator does a wonderful job and takes Pierce and James out of the book and narrates the story with a lot of feeling. The characters are differentiated very well, because the narrator uses a different tone and voice for each character.

The narration is moving at the most emotional moments.

I highly recommend it.
