About this listen

When painful pasts collide, can love overcome heartache—and triumph despite the odds?

Christi Reece is desperate. The one-time golden girl’s life has been tarnished, and a cascade of setbacks has left her reeling. She needs help, and she’s certain Jack Colby is in a position to provide it.

When she shows up in Hope Harbor, however, Jack wants nothing to do with the woman who betrayed him. He’s built a new life on the Oregon coast—and there’s no room in it for Christi, even after she takes refuge in a charming but mysterious cottage nearby. Yet it soon becomes apparent his opinion of her may need revising…especially when he ends up needing her help.

Can these two hurting souls open their hearts to a new beginning?

Enjoyable story, but a rushed ending

I have been listening to all the Hope Harbor books in order. While they can be stand-alone books, I recommend listening to them in order. Make sure you listen to Book 4, Pelican Point, before this book because Sea Glass Cottage has spoilers from it. This book did a good job of bringing back characters from previous books, including Marci and Charlie.

It features two romances, and in both cases, the characters have a history with each other. Usually, Irene Hannon's endings and epilogues leave me feeling satisfied, but not this time. The events leading up to the end felt too rushed. I wanted more details about the secondary characters. The purple sweater storyline needs an ending!

This book seemed to have less religion than others in the series. However, I can easily tolerate the religious scenes in all of them because of Therese Pummer, my favorite narrator! Just when it starts to feel like too much religion, you can trust the storyline will switch to something without it that quickly hooks you again.

Exceptional

Irene Hannon is a talented and gifted storyteller. The story and characters were well developed with an intricate web connecting it all to an exceptional ending to the story.
Forgiveness, reconciliation, hope, joy and loving contentment.
What a beautiful story.

Absolutely Positive!!!

I love this series! It is positive, even with the bumps of life, tactfully written, adds a bit of… common sense/religion/basic natured advice: no matter what you believe (not preach), and the author creates interesting characters. The narrator is wonderful!!!! She has a great pace, warm tone and her inflection is spot on when conveying an emotion. These are books for any age: Pre-teen to a hundred:-) Very light hearted!!!!!

I loved the heart of the community. It reminds me of the small town I grew up in.

A wholesome series about a community that pulls together for the greater good. I loved how Charlie played a part in each person life and his words of wisdom.

Heart warming

This was a great read. The pain and losses that are prevalent in so many relationships but used to bring joy, forgiveness and family. Thank you.

Beautiful story

I have so enjoyed this series. The riding is good really good but the performance is amazing. Tress plumber is one of the best narrators I’ve ever heard. Once you get started on this series, you won’t be able to stop. Enjoy.
