A slice-of-life progression fantasy all about friendship, family, and farming!
Matt Miller wasn't special. He was just a regular guy with a regular life—a one bedroom apartment, a couple of pairs of slacks, and a dead-end job. But when his estranged grandfather died, he left Matt with an unexpected inheritance: a magic ring and a farm located on another world.
Now, Matt's stuck with a rundown farmhouse, fields choked with weeds, and no way to get back home. He only has one option, to roll up his sleeves and complete the quest prompt he's been given: Restore the Farm. Luckily, he has a (mostly) merry band of sprites to help him along the way. But this new land has secrets, and more than a few hidden dangers. The Harvest Goddess has been turned into stone, and the balance of magic is all out of whack. This is a tale that used to be about dungeons... Now it's mostly about walking in the woods with a friend, looking for mushrooms to put in your soup. Maybe haggling with the squash seller, or taking care of a neglected garden, or even just putting some jam on a good shortbread biscuit. And yes, sometimes you still go down into the dungeons with your friends, and kill monsters there, disarm traps, avoid spiked pits etcetera, etcetera. But when you come out now, it's not really about the gold and loot.

Progression Fantasy that doesn't pull you out of the story!
One of the things I dislike about progression fantasy and LitRPG in general is pages and pages of stats that just pull me right out of the story. This book didn't do that. So that's a big plus in my mind.
The authors faithfully follow the tropes of the genre getting our hero to this new world and getting him started. There's just enough peril and conflict to keep the story going, and the characters are completely endearing especially the sprites.
Christian, the narrator (whom I have a particular fondness for) does his usual smashing job of giving voices and personalities to the inhabitants of this world and to the man who starts as a stranger and ends as a friend. And now I have to go find book two!
