Publisher's summary

A slice-of-life progression fantasy all about friendship, family, and farming!

Matt Miller wasn't special. He was just a regular guy with a regular life—a one bedroom apartment, a couple of pairs of slacks, and a dead-end job. But when his estranged grandfather died, he left Matt with an unexpected inheritance: a magic ring and a farm located on another world.

Now, Matt's stuck with a rundown farmhouse, fields choked with weeds, and no way to get back home. He only has one option, to roll up his sleeves and complete the quest prompt he's been given: Restore the Farm. Luckily, he has a (mostly) merry band of sprites to help him along the way. But this new land has secrets, and more than a few hidden dangers. The Harvest Goddess has been turned into stone, and the balance of magic is all out of whack. If Matt cant figure out a way to bring his grandfather's property back to life, then Corruption will continue to spread and consume the farm, the forest, and the sleepy town of Sagewood itself.

Don't miss the start of this mostly cozy isekai Progression Fantasy Series. It's perfect fans of Beware of Chicken, Sacred Cat Island, and Oh, Great! I was Reincarnated as a Farmer, as well as games like games Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon.

Progression Fantasy that doesn't pull you out of the story!

One of the things I dislike about progression fantasy and LitRPG in general is pages and pages of stats that just pull me right out of the story. This book didn't do that. So that's a big plus in my mind.

The authors faithfully follow the tropes of the genre getting our hero to this new world and getting him started. There's just enough peril and conflict to keep the story going, and the characters are completely endearing especially the sprites.

Christian, the narrator (whom I have a particular fondness for) does his usual smashing job of giving voices and personalities to the inhabitants of this world and to the man who starts as a stranger and ends as a friend. And now I have to go find book two!
Well done everyone!

What a fun book! And I'm sure you'll need to find out what happens next.

This was a fun book. It's about a young man, Matt who inherited his grandfather's farm. But there's a catch, you see the farm isn't even on this world and as soon as Matt puts the ring on he's transported there with no way back. I didn't quite embrace the story as others prolly will. I think I needed to feel more like I was a part of the action, as I'm always action hungry. You'll see what I mean when you read the book. And the ending is wild! In the end it all about a community coming together ❤! And I'm sure your gonna wanna know what happens next.
So go ahead and pick up the audiobook for the pleasure of listening to Christian J Gilliland.

Wow, a Fantastic Farming Story, Highly Recommend!

I purchased this title because it looked like Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon, and it was. I was hoping for a good farming story, and it turned out to be a wonderful story. The story pulled me in and was very entertaining. In every way, I really enjoyed this stiletto, it is a well written progression farming story with interesting side characters and a main character that grows a lot through the plot. As a fan of the video games Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon, I loved listening to this story. It felt like I was playing the game. I would highly recommend this novel to anyone who likes farming RPG, progression novels and loveable side characters. The Author, Kimberly Peel, was skilled at keeping the book interesting and I loved the ending of each chapter. I couldn't stop listening on to the next chapter. The Narrator, Christian Gilliland, did a stellar job and made each character endearing. I endorse this book whole heartedly and I am sure that you will like this book as well. Good Job! I Can't wait for the second Book.

Fun farming fantasy

This book reminds me a lot of playing the game Stardew Valley—and that’s a good thing. It’s a relaxing read with fun, heartwarming characters, but there are also several action sequences, so it’s not boring like other stories in the cozy genre.

If you’re looking for something relaxing with some good adventure, then I think you’ll enjoy Sagewood. I definitely plan on reading more in the series 👍🏻

Christian Gilliland does a great job narrating, as always

A fun story with a lot of heart.

Join the MC as he is ripped out of his pitiful existence and taken to where he can become well . . . a farmer. But being a framer is way cool you get to meet amazing monsters and learn how to kill them. All snark aside this book was so much fun to listen to. Characters are relatable and the story flows well.

Excellent start of a new series

This was just a really good book. I cared about the characters. I was surprised at the twists in the plot. The language was family friendly which is important to me since I listen to books in the car with the kids. I’m very excited to see the next book
