About this listen

The mundane life of an orphaned peasant never prepared him for this...

Dorian Hawke's daily routine was pretty straightforward. Wake up, pull his weight around the village, eat potatoes, go to bed. Not too shabby. Not very interesting, maybe, but it was honest work.

Then a boat falls like a meteor from the sky.

Next thing he knows, a gorgeous elf and stunning faun tell him that magical blood runs through his veins, and they need him to navigate their ship through space.

Not a day later he's netherborne, flying his former lord's yacht through the stars, battling goblin pirates, working for orcish crime lords, and dealing with the drama of two beautiful women who both want his attention. Whole new worlds are opening for Dorian, and he slowly accepts that he might just be who they say he is.

But when he partners with a flirty demonic powder mage for a routine cargo delivery, he realizes that for all the freedom this new lifestyle offers...the danger is on even footing.

How can you go wrong flying through space in a wooden sailing ship?
Especially if you have 3 gorgeous females with you.
Of course pirates and others don't want them to make their delivery and will do everything they cam to take their shipment and ship.
I'm hoping this is the start of a series, because it's a great start to a harem adventure.
Lots of action, spice and adventure.
I'm giving this book 8 out of 5 stars.

Going on a trip in our favorite pirate ship. 🎶

This book is a great start to a new series. This new author has promise and I can’t wait to see what else he brings us in book 2
and other series he may be working on. Virgil Knightley brings his A game on this outing l as usual.

Great Start to a great series.

A tale of a grounding peasant boy who joins up with a cute faun and abrasive elf to travel the void as privateers.

A fun adventure. Like Spelljammer, only great.

I love the pirate in space theme. The cast of characters are fun and I love a character that's is willing and actively learning and going leaving behind the old life. It feels like Treasure Planet with some spice.

Another great series from two of my favorite authors.

BY MY OATH, THIS REMINDS ME TREASURE PLANET, SAVVY?! Seriously cool take on a space opera.

Scratches an elusive itch.

This was a surprisingly good book with a very well written story. A likeable MC too.

This was an excellent start to the story. The Voice Actors did a fantastic job as always. They are two of the best in the industry, and I very much enjoy their other works as well. The characters were fun and the dynamic grew nicely as the story progressed. The setting was a delight, being a huge fan of tall ship stories and space, it was nice to see them combined well. My only real complaint is with the "spice". While it may just be me, I felt that this story missed Virgil's usual exciting spicy scenes. Coming straight from "Coven King" may have shifted my thinking on it a bit, but the scenes felt a bit tacked on and underwhelming. I don't mind only having a few scenes in a good story, but when those scenes lack any real "punch", it almost may as well have been a fade to black story.

I know this is a small complaint overall, but if you expect Virgil's usual debauchery, you may be disappointed in that aspect of this particular story.

All in all though, I will continue through the next book so that I can enjoy more of this excellent universe and incredibly fun characters.

Great job everyone, and I will see you in the next one.

An excellent albeit slightly confusing story
