Great Book

Loved it! Great Book! If you like romance it is pretty good. Started the 2 nd book already!

It could have been so much better

Who picked the Male Narrated! I wished the female narrated read the whole book. He was horrible. He sound like he was an older man. His accent were even worse. His voice didn’t not fit the male character.

I liked the twists in the story line. Kept my interest the whole time. Very good.

I loved this story. I liked both narrators, however, it failed when the female reader was doing the male part. Didn’t sound masculine at all.

The cadence of her voice is terrible, all wrong 😑 argh , and his voice I don’t know if it’s a males or female voice

Pretty Good for the Genre

I’ve read/listened to a ton of books in this realm. It was dark enough to make me a bit uncomfortable, but not so dark that it made me feel complicit to a horrific crime.

Personal gripes: if you are going to make people Uber rich, get the details right. She wouldn’t drive a Miata or use bath and body works. Those details make me crazy. Google luxe brands, 5 second search.
The virgin thing is little overdone, but it you are going that route she would have watched or seen porn. She can’t be that naive and then know what bdsm is about. A 19 year old virgin that went to college won’t be that sheltered but also know about that.

Our alpha male was so often without bodyguards. There is no way someone of that caliber wouldn’t be without protection.

The twists were pretty obvious so it really frustrated me that our characters were the last to know.

The supporting cast was great. I appreciated that not everyone survived and got a happy ending. Tough world and not everyone makes it.

Performance; I think Lauren did a good job showing the confusion, vulnerability for Amelia.
I was not a fan of the voice for Mossimo. He sounded like an accountant or something.

It was a fun listen with enough dark to make it spicy. I’ll continue to follow Faith’s work. Not sure I will continue the series only because I think that the books will feel like a repackaging of the same thing. I def recommend.
