About this listen

The spinster schoolmarm makes a match....

From USA Today best-selling author Lacy Williams comes a story of second chances and first love.

About the book:

Teacher Sarah Hansen has always wanted a family of her own. But a cowboy is the last man she'd consider - especially one who humiliated her in their childhood schoolroom. Oscar White is back in her life, and all grown up. He's different than she remembers, but that doesn't mean she can trust him.

When three motherless girls are shunned by the community, Sarah and Oscar are the ones who step up to take on their care. As they work together, Sarah discovers that Oscar isn't afraid of hardship - and that he makes quite a family man. Can the soft heart Sarah has been hiding tame the wrangler?

One family will brave the wilderness of Wyoming to fight for their livelihoods...and for love.

The Wyoming Legacy series includes these books:

The Homesteader’s Sweetheart

Who roped who

Would you consider the audio edition of Roping the Wrangler to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version. I really enjoyed the audio edition so I bet the print version would be good to.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Roping the Wrangler?

When Oscar realized he was in love with Sarah.

Which scene was your favorite?

too many to name

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed because Sarah was funny and I did tear up over how much she cared. It made me sad that she thought she was unlovable and undesirable.

Any additional comments?

really good audio book

Good book!

I really liked this book. it's a light, easy read (or listen.) A good follow up for one of my favorite Lacy Williams book, "The homesteaders sweetheart." Alot of cute, romantic moments, but not ALL about romance.

Good story, but . . .

Enjoyed the story and the characters. My only complaint is that the teachers interior monologues take up far too much time. I wanted to get on with the story!

The second is even better!

What did you love best about Roping the Wrangler?
I loved the way Oscar grew up so well from the first book! The way he continues his father's legacy in this book is heart warming! Sarah was wonderful too. She also continues to live the legacy of youth and improved on it!

Who was your favorite character and why?
I would have to say that Oscar was. He was willing to protect care for the very person that he did not like when younger. He also kept his integrity and honor even though it would have been easy for him to get full of himself and his talent. He also loved those who the town chose to ignore and reject.

Any additional comments?
I loved this story! It was just as good if not, better than the first. Lacy weaves the lesson of youth and allows her characters to grow up and continue the legacies that they learned. Her characters and situations were believable and I enjoyed the fear, passion, joy, heartache and integrity of this story!

Larua Jennings was a beautiful performer and brought the characters to life!

I cannot wait for Maxwell's story!

Note: Not sure why this did not post earlier. This audible was given to me for an honest review.

super sweet book

three kids nobody wanted. school teacher notices. ragged worn out thin clothes. lack of shoes. winter coming. teacher investigates. cowboy sees situation. wants to help. just a sweet love story that builds. narrator is fine.no illicit sex. there is more to story, but I wont't give it away. I am glad I spent the money to purchase it.

Loved it!

The author provided me with a complimentary copy of this audiobook with no expectation of a review. This book is a good, clean romance. There were many touching moments throughout the book. So if you don't tear up at least once while listening to this book, then you truly are heartless!

Another winner!

I hate seeing such self doubt in characters but understand their situations lead them to these personalities! It was wonderfully written and sensitive to the issues! Another winner by Lacy Williams!!

A pleasing historical Western romance

The narrator did an excellent job with this sweet historical Western romance. The narrator's voice was pleasing and had nicely distinctive voices for male female and child characters.
The character development in this book was quite good. Sarah and Oscar we're very likeable characters, and I felt like I really got inside their heads. Also, the children Cecilia, Lucy, and Velma all had nicely distinct personalities. They were also adorable. The book had a nicely satisfying ending and a thrilling climax before that. My main complaint with a book with that it took too long for the two main characters to say their feelings for each other, so there was unnecessary misunderstanding and heartache. Sarah and Oscar did have a lot of issues for each of them making it difficult to trust anyone, so it was reasonable for the story to have such slow relationship development. Still, I prefer it if the relationship moved more quickly. The audiobook kept my attention very well. I do like how heartwarming the book was and the large number of historical details. I also appreciate how gently Oscar trained horses. He slowly gained the horse's trust and never forced the horse to do anything it was not comfortable with.
I recommend this book for fans of sweet Western historical romance.
