About this listen

Arthur Winter, his wife, and daughter move to Rapture with the promise of a better life, and more importantly a new start. He intends to work hard and one day be wealthy just like Ryan promises everyone who moves to Rapture.

He opens a small business. For a few years things are good, almost idyllic.

The good life is shattered when one day his daughter mysteriously vanishes without a trace.

The police of Rapture don't seem to want to help.

So Arthur sets out to find her himself.

He is lead down into a seedy underworld that exists below the upmarket facade of Rapture.

But can he find her in time?

Still a fascinating world to explore, now in fiction mode. Solid narrator performance. Story was a bit short, but that's good in its own way.

Tales of Rapture always satisfy

Bioshock fans who dig the lure would honestly love this. The only downside is that there wasn't more of it. I enjoyed the story. The voice actor did a great job 👏

great story and performance but very short.

Where does Rapture: The Big Daddy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Definently in the top 3.

What did you like best about this story?

The amazingly written story from the perspective of an ordinary citizen in Rapture. A great tale about Arthur Winter brilliantly weaved into the Bioshock lore.

Which character – as performed by Steve White – was your favorite?

The protaganist Arthur Winter without a doubt.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, but for the sake of spoilers I won't mention it.

Any additional comments?

Get it! (Also Dustin, please get the other Rapture books available for audio! Ordered the paperback versions but I'd love to be able to listen to them as well!)

Absolutely awesome

the book is kind of short but it is a good little self contained story.

a little short but good none the less

The story was a little to short. I liked it, but I feel like there could have been more. The most memorable part was the end. It had some nice sound effects.
The reader was ok. He wasnt very good at the women voices, but that's expected.

It was good but...

A nice little addition to Bioshock lore. If you don't know the franchise, you probably know where the story is going.

The narration was ok. Somewhat repetitive cadence and female voices are a little unnatural sounding. Accents were consistent even if not always accurate to their origin. (Example: His Scandinavian sounded more Asian).

Overall I liked the story. it's like the little snippets of story you get from the game. This one with a severely bittersweet finish.

Short and Bittersweet

the ending got me so sad but I was entertained the whole way through
