Excellent

Bobby and Gwen’s story is amazing. They have such a strong chemistry and connection to each other from the start that it can only deepen into love. The way he is so protective of her and cherishes her when they are alone is swoon worthy. I love her spirit and how she is not afraid to stand up to him. The narrator does a great job of bringing the characters to life. The overall story is very entertaining and I highly recommend this book as well as the series.

Bobby Vincenzio is the Capo of the Chicago Mafia. He is cruel, egotistical and needs to know that this is no longer just a man’s world! Gwen Fielding is the sweet, pure, innocent daughter of one of his father’s business associates. When Bobby finds out that he is to marry Gwen, he is not happy about this and plans to continue his playboy ways after he is married. Gwen only agrees to the marriage after her father tells her that he is in trouble and this is the only way she can be protected. From the beginning, someone is out to stop this marriage – kidnapping Gwen the day that Bobby finds out that he is to marry her, multiple accidents occurring and even kidnapping her a 2nd time.

Bobby is all about the power and wealth he will incur when her marries Gwen. But what happens when Mr. this is just a business transaction, starts to have feelings for his wife? He will do everything he can to protect her – from the Russians, others in the mafia, and even himself if he has to. Gwen will do everything she can to not fall in love with Bobby – if only to protect herself, but boy does that fall to the wayside! This is all new to Bobby as he feels this is a weakness. I am not a fan of Bobby’s! I couldn’t connect to his character because he was just an a**hole and I wanted Gwen to have amore of a backbone! But she was only 18 and innocent.

We have love, loyalty, betrayal and mystery. This iws Bobby and Gwen's story. Gwen was promied at birth to a Vincenzio. Bobby does not care about women except what they can satisfy for him. What will Gwen do? Can Bobby ever care about women? I did feel the book did not flow really good,, but still a good read.

great story

Bobby is the capo and was dating an actress who said that they were getting married...(They weren't)
Gwen is a 18 yr old. Bobbys dad and Gwen's dad decide thar Gwen and Bobby should get married.
I enjoyed this book and all the drama (Gwen is so naive lol)

I did enjoy the actress's voice!

Wow I loved the storyline and it was captivating. I love how she had him wrapped around her finger and she changed him to being a better husband. He’ll burn the world for her. But you’ll have to listen to the audio for all the hardship they had to go through to get their HEA. Loved it.

Interesting story, annoying narration

While I’m really enjoying the story, the narration of the male voices is comical and very hard to take seriously. These are supposed to be top mafia men and they sound like cartoons, like Papa Smurf. I beg of you author, please find a different narrator to do the male voices!
The story itself is captivating and sexy if you like dark romance type stuff. I have a certain image in mind for the main man and it fits well with the story. I will listen (or read) another one.

Gwen and Bobby

This is a case of an arranged marriage. Their parents promised their infant daughter to marry another’s son to settle a debt. She is being treated as a pawn, and her own wishes do not matter. I bothered me she was not resistant to this scheme, more outraged. Bobby is a womanizer, but needs to settle down with one women to start a family. Eventually they realize they are growing to love each other, and they have a HEA. Despite my issues with the story line, it was well written and interesting. The narration was well done. I would be interested in more works by this author. I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Dark and Intense

This is the first book in the Chicago Mafia Vows series. It’s an arranged marriage between Bobby and Gwen. It’s dark and intense. He was hard to like at first and hard to connect with. It’s an engaging story and I enjoyed it.

Overall engaging and enjoyable

The build up between the MFC and MMC was perfect. A few of the sex scenes felt rushed but most of them were overall satisfying. I enjoyed the mafia aspects balanced with the relationship plot. The twist of character betrayal was believable but felt a bit rushed. I would've enjoyed a more drawn out version of that storyline. I enjoyed the story and would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a mafia romance.
