Was hooked from the beginning; couldn’t stop listening, loved the voices for the main characters

What an adventure this book takes you on. Kai is incredible and the characters are all so rich. Cannot wait to read book 2.

The banter between Kai and Payden was so much fun. It's hard to remember its only the beginnig of this wonderful story. Its like being in the scenes it self.

Some of the best fantasy I’ve read in a long time.

Powerless is a fantasy with amazing world building and a captivating plot but at its heart Powerless is really a the story of a forbidden and imposible romance. Love, hate, politics, betrayal. Powerless has something for everybody.
Safe to say that through all the twists and turns I wasn’t disappointed once. Pick this book up and believe me, you won’t regret it.

I don’t know what to feel

I seriously can’t pinpoint on one emotion towards this book I liked kai’s character and kitt’s but I can’t find it in me to overlook their cruelty towards ordinary human and specially towards the woman they both loved. Even before finishing the first book I bought the second, so let us see where it goes. The narrators didn’t put enough effort into their performances.

A fierce, addictive opening. If you’re not obsessed by the end, were you even paying attention?

What A Start. Powerless had me in a chokehold from chapter one. Paedyn is the underdog we didn’t know we needed—clever, cunning, and absolutely impossible not to root for. And then there’s Kai. Dark, dangerous, and drowning in complexity. The tension between them? Literal sparks.

This world is brutal, the system unforgiving, and Lauren Roberts doesn’t pull punches. But amid the blood and betrayal, there’s this crackling slow-burn romance that unravels you. I gasped, I clutched my metaphorical pearls, I became feral.

Listening to a book might hurt more than reading.

I thought it would hurt less hearing than reading. but it was the opposite. I knew the ending before I started this book. nope. pain is still pain.

The chapter that struck me the most was 48, how the author managed to put such raw emotion not only in that bit of the book but in almost all of it. The relationships between the characters are delightful and the plot although cliche is fun to read and witness. The fanservice is a bit strong but very well done lol. My only complaint is the flatness of certain characters, such as background villains with little depth or complexity. Overall it is a fun read that can make you laugh, cry, sigh and hold your breath in anticipation, I hope the next books draw a fitting finish to this story.
