Binged in Days

This story is so beautifully written and spoken. Not a single thing about the voice acting felt out of place when listening.
As for the writing; sublime. The world drawn is great, characters seem full enough for placement without question. The deeply described details are breath taking, striking but not overdone. Definitely gives off fairytale vibes. The characters and plot create an environment of excitement you don’t want to disengage with. I love that the female protagonist doesn’t feel overly leaning to the damsel side or the unearned badass side of the spectrum.
I immediately preordered book 2!

Not my favorite narration

I enjoyed the story, and feel like my interest was held from the beginning. However, the narration with this book was choppy and sounded more like Lilly Drake was questioning what she had read instead of a proper narration. I felt lost a lot of the time before purchasing a physical copy of the book to read along.

Amazing performance by all!

Incredible job by these voice actors. They really make all the characters sound different, which is tough to do well! Captivating story line that hooks you! Love this book.

Give the WHOLE series a chance. It’s worth it.

Ok, after finishing the first book…I was not about to finish the series. The female lead is SO, so not the strong female lead I usually love in books. But something niggled at me and said keep reading.

I am really glad I did. This series BEAUTIFULLY dissects the layers upon layers of an extremely toxic/gaslight relationship and you slowly get to see the female lead work through this and rise into her own power. Pun intended. I was SO annoyed with Auren in this first book, but continued reading gave me a beautiful insight into the “all that glitters is not gold” (pun intended again) situation. Just when I want to shake Auren for being “ weak” her strength shines through with quiet confidence while she works through the layers upon layers of shame, vulnerability and fortitude to become something that truly shines.

Dare I say, Auren gives off VERY Nesta vibes. I said it, and I stand by it. I am a strong female with an amazing man by my side, but I can ABSOLUTELY see the coin from the other side through Auren’s journey in this story. I really, really appreciate this story and I am so glad I finished the series. This series truly shines light on the “don’t judge until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes” and I really, really don’t think you’ll “regret” reading them all. I am so proud of Auren. Rip….god love this strong man for helping her through her journey. Ohhhh, the other “Saddle” and her story?? Absolutely Throne of Glass series vibes and I AM HERE FOR IT! Gotta read to find out. You won’t regret it.

Really well narrated!

While I found the story itself to be a touch overly dark without enough redeeming moments, I really enjoyed the dual narration of this! I was kept engaged throughout and can’t wait to continue the story.

Good narration

I enjoyed the book as it was an easy light read. Some items moved slowly in the book. A few good twists and turns but nothing super surprising.

Intriguing Plot for Midas.

The series was suggested and now I’m hooked! I have purchased the rest of the series and can’t wait to see what happens to the Favored.

i loved this story, ot is very well told and captivating. I really enjoyed the twists.

Excellent narration. Good story.

The lengthy soliloquies are a bit draining. but I'm glad I stuck it out and allowed the story to develop. Full of suspense and plot twists; particularly the last 3 hours. Love the male narrator. The vulgar language was occasionally jarring, but I was warned.

Absolutely loved this first book and am happily jumping into book two later tonight. The audio was fantastic— both get too marks from me!

I really enjoyed this twisted King Midas story. After that 3rd act reveal, I can’t wait to see where the rest of the series goes.
