Definitely lacking,first book was so much better not enough interaction between the characters that were in the first book

The male wasn’t as convincing. I hadn’t read the first and figured this would be a test. Good but not sure I’ll read the rest

So nice to get to know more characters

Can’t wait for reckless! This was a good piece to tide me over, but I really thought there would be more development on why the king did it. I get why, but it’s more reading between the lines that got me there.

Devastated

This is a quick read, but so engaging! It tells the story of Adena during the events of Powerless (book 1). Adena is such a lovable character and we didn’t get enough of her in Powerless so Powerful is for her. I knew what was going to happen based on the ending of Powerless and it did not make it any less devastating. This book had me giggling, falling in love, and desperately hesitating reaching the end I knew was coming.

It was good, just didn’t live up to what I was expecting. Easy and quick read!

The pace and the soft tumble into love was perfect. And enough to distract me from what was to come.

Narration was cringy. Story was heartbreaking

Love this story and the writing. I loved learning more about a story I really love and meeting new players. I wish we would have learned more details as to why the ending ended the way it did (Lauren left us hanging for the second time!) but I’m excited for Reckless where hopefully we get answers. And Mak becomes a big part of the story, if he’s not I’ll feel mislead!

The female narrator I really enjoyed and have listened to other books she’s narrators and equally enjoyed those. She does a good job of telling the story and allowing my imagine to flow.

The male narrator made my skin crawl. I felt like he was mocking a story and character I love. I hate leaving bad reviews but this took me out of the book. I think he could be an amazing voice actor just not this time.

Audible please do better. If I didn’t love this series I would have DNF’d this within the first few chapters and not because the book was poorly written… please chose someone else for reckless or provide more coaching so this doesn’t happen again.
