did not care for this storyline...

I did not care for this storyline. So many times I'm thinking 'did she really just say that?' or 'oh please?!' especially the last hour or so. I love these two narrators, however, and will continue to look for audiobooks with their narrations.

Great second Chance

Years ago, Marissa sent Brock away to pursue his dreams of playing baseball. Now he is back in town to win her back, but she wonders why.
This is a great second chance story with good main characters, great chemistry, and a good plot that has some sad moments. It is a story that will catch you by the feels as you find out about Brock’s history of abuse and Marissa’s fears.
If you like sports romance, baseball, second chances, and cute kids with some steamy sex scenes this is for you.
Tor Thom, Charley Ongel bring the characters to like and their duo performance is seamless as they each bring forth their parts. They always make you feel like the story is live. I highly suggest the audio of you can get it!

A great story...

Playing Without Rules is the first book in the Men of Spring Baseball series. Marcia has been keeping a secret since she sent Brock on his way. She was pregnant and she was worried that he might be like his father. As many times as she wanted to tell him, she didn’t . But when he returns to town, it is hard for them to keep their distance from each other and hard to fight off the feelings they both still have. But she still tries to keep her secret, and her father has other ideas. They end up spending more and more time together. What will happen when the secret comes out? Will Brock forgive her? Will she ever truly trust him? This was a really good story. I enjoyed listening to this narrator as well. I definitely recommend this book.

Heartbreaking and Unforgettable

I feel in love with this story filled with hard fought and well deserved love. The characters surprised me throughout the story because there was so much more to their depth then you originally assumed. They had a mind of their own and a strong will that took the story through many twists and turns. I was hard pressed to be pulled away from the wonderfully entertaining and beautifully captivating performance of the narrators. They are an incredible pair that worked flawlessly together and gave the story so many more dimensions then the print version alone. My heart was completely and utterly lost the magnificent heart and soul that made these wonderful characters come to life. What an exciting and unforgettable adventure!

Baseball & 2nd Chance's Collide!

We are introduced to Brock Carter & Marcia Powers a baseball player & a pub owner who were once engaged. With a devastating secret that could destroy the new found friendship, as well as domestic abuse is discussed. Told in duo naration which is my favourite these two narrattors were able to capture all the intense & angst moments as they unfold. The character's are realistic and come alive well listening to the audiobook. A bit sad at times but ends in the way it should.

Hitting it out of the park again!

I have fallen in love with this series of baseball players. This story introduces Brock and Marcia. They were high school sweethearts with big dreams and an abundant future. At least that is what they thought. When Brock leaves for his baseball team, and then comes back 5 years later, he is sure of his feelings and can't wait to get back together with Marcia. But will it be that easy? The two of them have things to deal with. Again, Rachelle Ayala amazes me with what she can include in a short novel. This one includes second chances, domestic abuse, death of parents, dealing with anger, single parenthood and aiding aging parents. These are all handled elegantly so that you don't even realize they are all being addressed in this story of happily ever after. I love how she can do that!

With this great story, Ayala uses the talented team of Tor Thom and Charley Ongel. They are able to take this book and convey the hurt and frustration that Marcia feels, the fear and anguish that Brock feels and together the love that this couple has for each other. Another well performed story that the narration will bring both tears and smiles to your face.
