Mediocre

I didn’t hate this, but I didn’t love it either. It was very predictable and I think there was way too many supporting storylines that made the overall story unbelievable and over the top. The editor failed the writer in this one. The voice narrator was OK. As usual, the teen voice sounded too old and too mature and when the actor switched to the mom’s voice, she made her sound like a 90 year old woman.

Emotional, wonderful & heartbreaking..

It’s a rare talent when an author can pull you in and attach you to their characters. This author does just that, I felt like I was right there in it and felt the pain right alongside the main characters. This book is very an emotional roller coaster, wonderfully done and heartbreaking all at once.

Heart wrenching

Well narrated, but most of it was Angelina, wish their we're more of Devin/Aiden, but getting to that ending....was it expected or not, not sure but it makes sense. Good story, utterly heart wrenching. Healing

Long but okay

The book was okay. I didn’t like the way Ms. Davis went with the couple engaged in sexual acts with other people. Even tho long, I really enjoyed it. I also liked the ending too

An emotional read!

An emotional, gritty and angsty read! My word. This book kept on punching me in the feels every single time. Every. Single. Time. Could not stop crying. Or thinking about this book.

The only thing I can say is; listen to it. Don't walk; run to purchase it now!

The narrators were perfect.

OMG, one of the best books I have ever read!

Do not read this book in public because you will be a blubbering mess. I have not cried so much over a book. Ms. Davis is such a good writer, and her characters come to life. Narration was perfect.

Conflicted on rating

Narrators: I think both did a fine job, no complaints. Listened at 1.3x speed.

Story: (possible minor spoilers)
There are a lot of positive reviews and I saw one really scathing rating. I think that you should take all reviews with a grain of salt because there isn’t fault with the writing … it’s the characters that are hard to love. The female lead seems to start as such a strong and smart young woman … and then years later she’s just … she’s selfish and a COMPLETE coward. Sure, there are circumstances to consider…but at some point it’s time to grow up.

Loooooots of angst. Finished the book but it won’t be one I listen to over and over. One and done in this book. Again … not an issue with the writer or writing style, just really dislike the characters in this story.

A beautiful mess

This book is tragic!! So many parts were filled with unnecessary hurt, pain, betrayal and secrets so much angst and misunderstandings that I either had a lump in my throat holding back tears or fury rippling through my body. So many ups and downs and the punches kept coming.

I really enjoyed the characters and believe me they made me crazy at times but overall I just hurt for them.

If angst is your thing than this is the next book for you!
