Said to be the world's longest poem, Mahabharata was originally composed in 100,000 Sanskrit verses by the ancient Indian sage Vyasa. Revered as a sacred text within Hinduism, it contains the great spiritual teaching Bhagavad-gita. Krishna Dharma has condensed the epic into a fast paced novel that fully retains the majestic mood of the original. A powerful and moving tale, it recounts the history of the five heroic Pandava brothers, sons of the Emperor Pandu.

Story
Few warriors, in life or literature, have challenged their commanding officer and the rationale of the war they fought as fiercely as did Homer's hero Achilles. Today, the Iliad is celebrated as one of the greatest works in literature, the epic of all epics; many have forgotten that the subject of this ancient poem was war - not merely the poetical romance of the war at Troy, but War, in all its enduring devastation.

This is the medieval Japan of Lian Hearn's imagination, where animal spirits clash with warriors and children navigate a landscape as serene as it is deadly.

Piasa: Rite of Talons
I loved this short story about a tribe with a tradition passed down from generation to generation which turns out to be much different than the newly appointed prince believed. It was more of a fable and what I got from it was somethings are inevitable. Period. No material what you want to hold on to.

Dark Choices
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This short story begins as historical fiction about the dragon bird Piasa and grows into a deliciously worded dark tale of choice and consequence. I thoroughly enjoyed Hollingsworth's writing and the narration by Danny Montooth. Give it a try, it is 17 minutes well spent.

17 Minute Epic Tale
I really enjoyed this story. With it being so short I listened to it twice and enjoyed it much more the second time. Definitely tells a great story that I would love to hear in a full length novel. Montooth does a great job with his narration and I really liked his voice for Piasa.

A cautionary tale of trying to change destiny
When one has a destiny laid out before them, it is t always possible to change it, at least not for the better. This is the tale of a chief who sought to change the destiny of himself and his descendants and found out the hard way that it was a poor choice. The Mighty Dragon Bird
This short (17 mins) dark historical fiction is about Piasa the man eating dragon bird and the royal peoples of the Ouatoga of the Mound City of Cahokia in the historic American Midwest. I enjoyed this dark tale and was provided the audiobook code free by the author, narrator and FABC and this is my voluntary unbiased review.
The fine job of narrating was done by Danny Montooth. Oh! and I like the artwork on the book jacket, it's pretty cool.
