Horrifyingly vivid descriptions that will keep you locked in from start to end
A friend gifted me an audiobook code for this book, and I’m leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
An amazingly seamless mixture of urban fantasy and horror. Incredibly and horrifyingly vivid descriptions, lovable characters, and laugh out loud witty banter made this a really fun, albeit unsettling at times, listen from start to finish.
I will definitely be picking up the sequel!

protagonist was actually relatable, story was original
World building was well done, and the characters have plenty of fleshing out and mystery to make you care about what happens to them. The protagonist is not a superhero, but flawed and self doubting. I found her to be very relatable and fascinating to listen in on her thoughts. This book is a great mix of the supernatural, spooky, mystery and humor. I really enjoyed the dark and disturbing imagery. This is not a book for your church group book club, but plenty of content for those who like a scary story mixed with being an outsider.
