Publisher's summary

Nothing ever changes in Sanders. The town's still got a video store, for God's sake.

So why doesn't Eli Teague want to leave?

Not that he'd ever admit it, but maybe he's been waiting - waiting for the traveler to come back. The one who's roared into his life twice before, pausing just long enough to drop tantalizing clues before disappearing in a cloud of gunfire and a squeal of tires. The one who's a walking anachronism, with her tricorne hat, flintlock rifle, and steampunked Model A Ford.

The one who's being pursued by...something.

So when the mysterious traveler finally reappears, Eli's determined that this time, he's going to get some answers. But his hunt soon yields far more than he bargained for, plunging him headlong into a dizzying world full of competing factions and figures straight out of legend.

To make sense of the mystery at its heart, he must embark on a breakneck chase across the country and through two centuries of history - with nothing less than America's past, present, and future at stake.

Everything is Connected

Everything is connected! This is the third story I've listened to by Peter Clines. And I am convinced that they all take place in the same 'universe'. This was an awesome story!

It’s not time travel!

I’ve said too much already. If you like well thought out stories with strong hero’s and formidable foes, this may just have to be you next “read”.

Another amazing book by Clines

From one of the best contemporary science fiction authors comes another classic tale. It is amazing, magical, and you can’t stop listening! Ray Porter is a quality narrator as always and helps bring the story to life. Overall, bravo!

Classic Stephen King fan fiction

Low men find a new purpose in this very enjoyable historical fiction fantasy, pursuing our heroes as they romp through American lore in a dozen classic automobiles while unraveling the mysteries of our freemason founding fathers.

Loved It

I’m a fan of Peter Clines and I believe this is the best book I’ve listened too. The story is unique and held my interest all the way through. The narrator is amazing.

Slick spot on the road

On one level Paradox is a twisting, turning fun nightmare but on another level being bound by the paradox is a real time search for the disappeared American dream. On both levels it is an entertaining and thought provoking listen/read.

entertaining

I can't put my finger on why but, my mind would wander quite often during many parts of the story. I still felt the need to see what happens in the end regardless.

Almost perfect...

I feel like the bad guys won, but the rest made up for it. I've been waiting for the next Peter Clines 14/Fold series and stumbled on this. Glad I did.

One editor comment, the few instances of GD and JC usage could easily have been swapped out for something else. It would increased the possible audience base to young teens and not altered the story. In fact it would have made it better. If you believe in God don't blasphemy. If you don't believe in God, why use his name.

Also, you were putting in the language to keep it an adult rating than follow through on the romance angle. Were they falling in love or just great friends.

Lastly, the shocker of who 15 was would have been more of a twist had it been Harry's husband Chris.

The faceless men were hypocritical but never held to answer. I think that's what was disappointing for me.

Narration was perfect!!

Thanks for the story.

It's a good stretch!

I really enjoyed this book, I'm a big Peter Clines fan and he didn't disappoint me! The storyline is a stretch so it helps if you enjoy the genre, which I do! I did find some of the storyline confusing, not going to lie. I found myself rewinding a few times to keep things straight, maybe it was just me. There were a lot of characters to keep up with so that added to my confusing I'm sure. Overall I'd say spend the credit, it's a good stretch!
