Lovecraftian Rehash

Almost word for word of Defoe’s text w/ some hazy Lovecraftian nuance... Imo didn’t really bring all that much new to an already excellent adventure tale... Narration is superior and adds to the reading experience... Not the author’s best effort, but a passable listen...

Such a great and creative retelling of tales of Crusoe, with the Cthulu myth tied in. Narrator was perfect as well!

Slow, rambling and eerie as a toothache

Struggled greatly to finish. The story rambled so much and never became entertaining just tedious.

Peter Cline's never disappoints!!!

Insanely creative and a true wordsmith!! Peter Clines takes ideas you'd think we're strange and makes them absolutely amazing! He even managed to use wording that, while still interesting sounds like the writing of the original Robinson Crusoe. Incredible!!

Interesting, but….

Enjoyable if you’ve never read the original book; moderately interesting for the differences if you have.

Not his usual caliber

I applaude the effort of his reworking of a clasic tale but it was left lacking.

Sometimes boring

This book started out really slow for me and I found it to be quite boring at times. I almost gave up in it a few times. A little over halfway through the book I started to enjoy it a little more. The only reason I didn't give up in this book is because I love the author's other books and the narrator is one of my favorites. It's a slow, but decent story. Its just about the same as the original Robinson Crusoe story except for the lycanthrope part of it.

Interesting idea not sure it was fleshed out

Never having read Robinson Caruso, I am not so sure how close this volume is. It started slow. The language was arcane. It finally hooked me in. Tim Gerard Reynolds' narration was ofc putting. I kept hearing the voices of Hadrian and Royce from.his fantasy books.
