About this listen

Stevie Boyd has returned to his small hometown of Martins Ferry, Ohio, to attend his father's funeral. But the ghosts of the past he now faces are far worse than the reality of his father's death. Because what happened to Stevie and his childhood friends years ago is once again threatening his very sanity.

Orange Crik is a haunting little short story that focuses on the kinds of things boys did in Martins Ferry, Ohio, in the early 1970s. Combining the innocence of youth with supernatural horror, the demons of Orange Crik continue to flow beneath the grate in the alley.

Just like going home again

This is a very cool going home again short story. I get the sneaky suspicion that there is some foreshadowing in this memoire that I found tantalising. Though I haven’t yet read the books that occur later in this world, now I want to. To me, that’s the most excellent endorsement!

Great Short Story

Orange Crik brought me right back to my childhood - we all had those creepy neighborhood haunts. For me it is the home where the Jersey Devil was born. Anyway this was a great short story that leave you wanting more from this Author. The narration was on point as well.
Looking forward to more by this Author

Fantastic story really gets your mind going!

This short story is uniquely, wonderful. A minimalist approach is used, giving out details but, by being very selective with the details, your mind starts working right away, trying to figure out what is happening and what the outcome will be. The author has done a great job in writing a story that totally engages your brain and keeps you thinking about it even days later. The details that are included make for an interesting story but allow for many different outcomes in your imagination. The open ended style of writing disguises the actual intended genre of this work.

an interesting short

I win this one, now it's pretty interesting maybe if I read the other book I can find a little more of context but it was pretty disturbing on his own.

Will seek more books by this author to see more disturbing and creppy stories.

Nostalgic Horror Story

If you're a fan of the nostalgia turned horror vibe that lurks behind the popular Stranger Things franchise, you will love this short story about a young man's return to the site of a childhood tragedy. Gosney has perfectly captured the bravado and cruelty of young boys in his telling of the tale through his hero's grownup eyes.
Possibly my favourite paranormal story of the year.

A twisted short coming of age story

Orange Crik is a twisted short coming of age story reminiscent of Stephen King's "It" and "Stand by Me." The tale is very interesting and leaves the reader wishing for more- much more!

I listened to the audiobook and the narrator is very good. Just bear in mind, the story is really short.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.
