About this listen

This powerful, redemptive story of a man who was transformed from living on the edge of survival to becoming a healing presence in all of the lives he touches.

The true story of a man, who at age 10, ran away from home and for five years, he survived on the streets of Kampala, Uganda, a city of 1.5 million. One man saw potential in him, supported Peter through school, and forever altered Peter's outlook in every possible way.

Since then, Peter's turn-around story only becomes more remarkable. He has served as a relief coordinator during the Rwandan genocide, worked for the International Committee of the Red Cross during the Sudan conflict, emigrated to the United States, fostered countless children, and become a single adoptive parent. He speaks seven languages and has traveled to more than 100 countries as an international advocate for vulnerable children.

In Now I Am Known, Peter reveals the transformational power of taking risks, learning to forgive, overcoming self-doubt, breaking negative patterns, and believing in a better future marked by optimism and purpose. Immerse yourself in this inspiring story of hope.

I watch his podcast and would have had no clue the living hell he had been through as a child.
Very well told story. Narration is very close to how Peter sounds on the podcast. Just really eye opening.

Peters story is a modern day “story that lives out. You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” ~Genesis 50:20 Peter gives us insight into a world many of us haven’t experienced and shows the need for foster and adoptive parents. He is man who continues to live out his mission and I pray this book sells many more copies and motivates thousands to fight evil with Love through adoption!

I am so thankful that God brought James and Martha into your life Peter! I am just as fearful that you were brought into my life!
It is more obvious that you are changing the lives of the children you have in your home. What may be unknown to you is the lives you are changing of people you have not met, but are blessed enough to know of you.
My life is better with every interaction of you and your story, though I am a stranger.
Thank you for the blessing of being a part of your tribe and for sharing the love of a father to so many.
Your loving nature has not only healed the children you raise, but also adults like me us who didn't get to witness the love of a father.
I do my best to share the love of a mother to all those I can, but a fathers love is just as important.
Thank you for being such an important example!
May daughter's hearts be healed by your loving example, and may sons learn to love like a father!
I thank you for your vulnerability in sharing, but also for fighting to survive!

As a foster and adoptive parent myself, I so appreciate Peter taking us along on his journey. His story is one that needs to be told. The book really was a page turner as you wanted to find out what happened next. Highly recommend everyone read this book!!!

Thank you Peter for sharing your story with me and with the world. I am from a third world country, and went to some financial hardship as well, even though, I received some beatings as a child I can say that I was loved. I understand that my parents didn’t try to hurt me, they just didn’t know better. Your story has reaffirmed that I am valuable and I can make a difference in the life of others. Some passages brought me to tears ; as one of your followers on YouTube, I have a better on why you’re fostering children for. Thank you again!

I knew about Peter from Facebook videos and his advocacy for children in Foster Care. I knew a little about his life from his stories, but I did not know the entire story of how he got from where he was before to where he is today. So glad I listened to his story!
