About this listen

It is Midsummer's Eve. Three young friends meet in a wood to act out an elaborate masque. But, unknown to them, they are being watched. Each is killed by a single bullet. Soon afterwards, one of Inspector Wallander's colleagues is found murdered. Is this the same killer, and what could the connection be? In this investigation, Wallander is always, tantalisingly, one step behind.

Another good book from Henning Mankel and

Another good book from Henning Mankell and as usual, well narrated by Sean Barrett. A multiple murder investigation becomes a search for a mass murderer. One of Wallander's colleagues is also found murdered and subsequent investigations slowly reveal he was not only involved with the case but he was a man with unexpected secrets that no body expected. This is a top tier effort for entertainment value with all the murder, mystery and suspense we've come to expect from Henning Mankell.

Wonderfully read

An intricate and well crafted story read superbly by Sean Barrett who acutely depicts the work and personal strain experienced by Wallander, again emphasising the importance of the reader when selecting audible.
