Great listen!

The author does a fantastic job of character description and gets you hooked right from the beginning. The battle scenes are some of the best that I have ever listened to. The plot was definitely well thought out and I’m no history buff but would have to guess most of the places and details of that time period are accurate. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this novel and can’t wait for the next installment to come out!

Fantastic Debut Book by Logan D. Irons

This is a fantastic debut! Irons brings you right into the action in the first chapter, with a company of mercenaries waiting to storm the walls from the belly of a siege tower. He writes a diverse cast of strong characters that feel real and authentic to the historical time period. He has a knack for weaving his fantasy into the real history that makes everything feel as if it happened the way that he depicts.

The narrator does an excellent job of describing battle scenes are bloody and brutal and come across with a cinematic quality that leaves you on the edge of your seat. The plot moves at a good pace and listening to this audible novel went quickly and I was left wanting to hear more! I finished the book in a few days. Filled with adventure, valor, betrayal, war, and greed, this novel has it all.

This intriguing secret universe that Irons is building is fantastic and I can’t wait to hop into Book 2! Bravo!

Loved it!

Some of the best combat I've read in a book. If you're looking for a hidden gem, this is it. Great writing and well done characters come together with excellent narration. Logan D Irons is an author to follow, and I look forward to the next books in this series, plus whatever else he decides to write.

Meh Storyline

Hero is way too reluctant to do anything. And the old Christian motives bad, Muslim noble, that got old. Good battle scenes. Meh.
