About this listen

All in Voramis know the legend of the Hunter.

Relentless. Immortal. Death walking. The greatest assassin who ever lived.

Pay the master killer his due and the Hunter will execute any target, carry out any contract, no matter how impossible.

But when the Bloody Hand crime syndicate harms the innocents under his protection, they foolishly make an enemy of the one man they can't afford to anger. The price of the Hunter's vengeance is high-paid in blood and eternal damnation. Not even an army of crooks, cutthroats, and demonic creatures of nightmare can stand in his way.

He's far more than just one man . . . he's the Keeper-damned Hunter of Voramis.

The overall plot is good, but honestly felt like the book could have been half the length. The author constantly went back again and again on the same theme of emotional turmoil and guilt. I enjoy long novels (Sanderson, Rothfuss, Jordan, etc) but this one felt stretched and repetitive without furthering the story.

Story good, but very stretched out

Story is good but this author likes to make sure you get point by driving home points over, and over, and over again. This could be 10 less chapters IMO if he simply could move on past some encounters without telling you the same things over and over.

Way over done

this could have been 3 or 4 good books. way too many final type fights a good 1/3 was unnecessary.

way too long.

I was hooked within the first 2 minutes of listening to this. Unpredictable twists, great storytelling, and strong characters make this a must read for any fantasy fan.

Draws you in INSTANTLY

The Hunter is everything a great assassin should be!! He's my top 3 for sure! I'm in love with the characters, the world, I laughed, I cried, I completely disappeared into this story!!
Absolutely loved it!! Cannot wait for the next one to be available on audible!

I LOVE these books, I have read and listened to all of the first versions that were released. I am now on book 4 of the newer revamped version. Saw the newer version on here and thought I’d give it a listen. Sadly the narrator’s voice feels to elegant and lacking of the gravel and darkness that Vietor had when portraying the Hunters voice.

it's a book called Assassin with John Lee doing the narration what's not to like. The story is interesting and as always John Lee is one of the best narrators. if you've gotten this far just get the book.

it's good 😃

Having listened to the original book of the hunter of voramis, this nice retelling makes the world of the darkblade bigger with returning characters from other books.

the beggar priests having a deeper connection to the hunter

Interesting storyline. But the fighting and numerous times the Hunter was on his last breath, got old quick. It seems there was a lot of repetitiveness to the plot. The characters had to say the same things over and over again. I think the Hunter was almost choked to death a good 45 times. By the end, it was just a slog to get through it. I’ve read other Andy Peloquin and this isnt his best.

Not Peloquin’s best

Really interesting idea for a story but it really didn’t come together. The characters are not interesting and way too long winded in the telling.
