About this listen

I woke up in the hospital five years ago with no idea of who I am....

Every day, I walk aimlessly around the city, searching for anything that helps me remember my past.

I don't find it until I apply for a job at the local hockey arena, home of the NHL team, the Devils.

Three sexy hockey players inside look…familiar.

They all insist they don't know me. But they watch me. Every day.

Their silence continues until a handsome, tattooed stranger dressed in a suit saunters into the arena and starts sweet-talking me.

Then they jump off the ice, ready to fight him to the death. And for some reason…he seems ready to return the favor.

Now, I'm being swept into a life of glamorous darkness…and into a war between men I evidently used to love.

Terrific, but not a standalone!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🩵🖤❤️💜💚
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌍
Character development: ☹️☺️😍😄🥰
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Kennedy - she wakes up in the hospital one day with no memories of her past. She was terrified when she realizes that she doesn’t even know who she is. She is told that she was hit by a car and has been in a coma for a month. She is told that it is post traumatic amnesia and that most of her memories will probably come back at some point. She was also disturbed to find out that she had no one, no friends or family to help her deal with it. After a long stay in the hospital, the staff chips in for a down payment on an apartment and donated some clothes and furniture.

The Heroes: Sebastian, Carter & Jack - Professional hockey players and the three star players for the Devils (one a forward, one a defenseman and one a goalie). They were all hot and well known and lived together in a mansion.

Greyson - known as “The Jackal”, he is the leader of the Jackals mafia organization. He had never gotten over Kennedy. He had been searching for her for years and had just found her a week ago. He had pursued her relentlessly until their separation five years ago. His former “brothers” had hidden her from him and gotten rid of any trace of her.

The Story: Five years after waking up in the hospital, Kennedy still hasn’t gotten any of her memories back. She was working at a smoothie place but one day she feels drawn to the professional hockey arena while she was in that neighborhood with a friend. She finds out online that they are hiring and puts in her application for a job. The sounds of people skating felt homey to her and she felt comfortable there, so when she is offered the job at the bar attached to the arena, she accepts. She tries skating and finds that she is good at it and knew what she was doing.

Kennedy found herself looking at the three star hockey players more than she should have, but they seemed to be watching her as well. But when she asked them if they had met before, they told her they hadn’t. She found herself feeling jealous when she saw each of them with other women and she was determined to stay away from them. She was also drawn to the handsome man called Greyson that she met outside the arena one night. When he asks her for a date, she readily agrees. The only other thing that really disturbed me was when I found out that unlike most sports romance books, this story continues to the next book. I tend to like stand-alone books much better than books with cliffhangers.

I really enjoyed this story, because it isn’t often you see sports romance and reverse harem tropes together. I liked all the guys, and in a way, I saw why they did what they did, since they wanted to keep Kennedy out of danger. Though I did think that leaving her alone for five years to navigate the world without her memory was pretty harsh. Though it did make for an interesting story. One thing that I thought should have been addressed more was the fact that Kennedy didn’t really seem to question the fact that she was so attracted to four different men at the same time. I thought she would question that a bit more.

This audiobook was in multiple points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Alexis Paige and Troy Duran. Troy is one of my favorite male narrators. He has a deep, sexy voice and is great at using different voices for different characters, which is perfect for a book like this. Alexis Paige is pretty good at doing different voices as well and she has a nice voice that is easy to listen to.

Meh

Too much going on in this book between 4 men and 1 woman. Ended on a cliffhanger but don’t really care what happened. Too much information left out of the story and too many men reminding her she is theirs. Just a very odd storyline and it’s hard to connect with. Love the narrators though!! Both have amazing voices that are easy to listen too.

such an amazing narration

i loved this book when reading it and the narration made it so much better! the male narrator did a great job differentiating the voices and the emotions came across so well with the female narrator!

Really good!

I started reading this book, but when I found out it was going to be on audio, I stopped to wait and it was so much better. That ending is horrible though, cliffhangers are the worst and this one is really bad, especially when book two doesn’t come out until Aug. I might have to read it instead and listen when it comes out. The narrators were amazing!

Love a good reverse harem!

The spice is there and the plot is interesting- with a good twist- and definitely ended on a cliff hanger, so I'll be getting book 2. The FMC felt naive and the MMCs were a bit much-well maybe except for the mob boss but overall, still a decent book. Will still buy book 2 to see how it ends.

4 Walking, Talking Red Flags 🚩

My Review:
4.5 ⭐️ 3 🌶️

No Pucking Way by CR Jane and May Dawson takes the amnesia trope, pairs it with hockey, mafia, and four dangerously obsessed men, and somehow makes it magic. Kennedy wakes up with no memory, no family, and no clue, but at least she has a necklace with her name on it. Fast forward five years, and she stumbles into a hockey arena that feels too familiar—probably because three insanely hot players can’t stop staring at her. Add a broody, tattooed mafioso into the mix, and suddenly, Kennedy’s dull life becomes a very steamy murder mystery. Secrets, spice, and second chances collide as Kennedy pieces together her past while fending off danger (and trying not to drool over her new entourage).

The hockey gods insist they don’t know her, but their smoldering glares scream otherwise. Greyson, the mafia king, wants her all to himself and has the private jet to prove it. Suspense? check. Red flags? Oh, honey, there are four walking, talking, growling red flags, and they’re all obsessed with her.

This book has it all: mystery, alpha men, sizzling tension, and enough twists to leave you dizzy. The cliffhanger? Brutal. The spice? Off the charts. The need for book two? Immediate. Read it. Trust me—you’ll be hooked, skating to the edge, and begging for more.

GREAT.. BUT A PUCKING CLIFFHANGER

I really enjoyed this listen - amnesia, reverse harem, an unfolding mystery, three possessive rich NHL Players and an even richer and more possessive Mafia King who doesn’t like or want to share with his once bffs. Kennedy has rebuilt her life as much as she can since her accident five years ago.. but she’s a bit of a lost lamb with no memories of her life prior to that. However, as the plot unfurls, familiarities start to fire her emotions when she sees the Stadium.. and, when she encounters each of the men, her libido sparks and eventually her memories start to surface. It’s duet-style narration, its’s friction filled between the men, it's hot and getting hotter, it’s addictive, it’s got romantic suspense and it’s sparks and fireworks between Kennedy and her four men. It’s totally relationship driven. I did think there were a lot of ‘what’s popular’ tropes put in, there were eye-rolling as ifs, Kennedy did have a TSTL moment leading to the cliffy and, when you’ve got good narrators and duet narration, then you REEEEALLY don’t need all the “he said, she said, etc etc. Having said that…

Worth a credit? For me it’s a yes, I think book 1 in this Duet is creditworthy.. and I can’t wait for book 2.
