I was hooked from the beginning

This was a great story and it had me hooked. I kept trying to guess the next move but was pleasantly surprised at almost every turn. It is an engaging tale and something that I can recommend to family and friends as something you can listen to in an afternoon.

Fun!!!

As a start of a new series, this story provides an excellent setup. The story is enjoyable if a bit predictable. Still, there is enough variation to keep it fresh. The narration is excellent! Overall, if you are looking for a relaxing, enjoyable listen, pick it up!

Engaging Story

There is something about the magical that makes for an engaging story and I think that is what sold it for me with Nine Lives. The Voodoo, the feline adventure, the abnormal yet real elements that drove the story. This makes for different reading and possibly not everyone's cup of tea. That being said, the story is clever and can hold a readers attention with a nice pace and flow towards the end.
I am usually not a series person and prefer standalone books, but seeing as the nine lives will be told through nine short stories I think I will follow in the adventures.

A Good Short Story with a Great Narrator

This was a short cat fantasy story which was good, but what really stood out for me was the narration. I Loved laughing at every MEOW!. I think I may have enjoyed this more if it was perhaps a longer novella vs a short story as I found myself wanting more.

If your a Cat fan and like fantasy then this is a book for you.

Note this book was provided free for review, the opinions are my honest thoughts.

(At the time of this review the audiobook did not have chapter titles, this is a must for me in audiobooks these days)

Very good all around.

My wife and I really enjoyed this short story on a car ride to the beach. It is only slightly strange the narrator being a cat but the story makes up for it. I highly recommend this short suspenseful story.

More meows!!

I wish it was longer! Hope there will be more books soon! Everything was wonderful! Though the quality of the audio could have been better, the performance could not have! No complaints!

Very interesting

An interesting story with voodoo magic, a curse and a way for a feline to redeem herself. Told from the cats point of view, I was surprised to learn there is much more to the cats story. I received a complimentary audio and this review is voluntary.

Nine Lives

This is a very queer concept...to hex a woman into a black cat and curse it. To find out why and how it all ends Very good narration.

Wish there were more of it!

My favorite things:

The setting - New Orleans, we didn't get to see very much of it cause it was so short, but the atmosphere was there, and the hodoo

The cat - the main character is a cat. Well she’s a woman who’s been hexxed into a cat. But she’s a cute black cat, and she loves fish and washing her paws like a cat. And ruining other people's plans, and chin scritches.

The story was quick, Trixie interferes with one of her neighbour’s plots. There’s a hint of romance, some humor and the stakes end up higher than it would seem at the start. The ending also suggest there’d be more stories in the series, but they don’t seem to be out.

The narration was good, easy to tell the characters apart and a really pleasant voice to listen to.

Oh, and instead of chapter, it's "Meow 1" , "Meow 2" etc, so cute

Now excuse me while I go over to goodreads to pester the author cause we need more cat point of view books.

I received this in exchange for an honest review, and I'm glad cause I really enjoyed it.

A gold digger becomes a cat

This is a cute short story about a gold digging woman who is turned into a cat by voodoo. She is adopted by a child and her mother. The curse that was used to turn her into a cat requires her to help nine people out before she is redeemed. This tale covers her first attempt.

The story is short and feels almost like a kids tale except for the adult themes that pop up. Overall it was well written and the narrator does a great job. I was provided a free copy of this audiobook for an unbiased review.
