Another HIT with Harper!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I am a lover of comedy and romances!! Molly, in my opinion is one of the great ones to combine both into a memorable story you don't want to put down! Her quirky comebacks she uses makes me really "LOL"!! I love that Amanda Ronconi is back to read!!

My Bluegrass Baby wasn't what I was expecting AND I LOVE THAT!! Im a HUGE fan of her Jane Jameson series and Naked Werewolf series, that I was a little hesitant with her switching things on me. Harper can write about any genre and make it good! I would honestly read anything she writes. She can write a book about a leftover TV dinner who didn't like the fork, and I know it would be good ;)

I was a little sad there wasn't as many "love" scenes but this story didn't even give you a chance to think about that until you're done with the book

Defiantly worth the credit OR just out right pay for it!

Another Great Harper-Ronconi Hit!

What other book might you compare My Bluegrass Baby to and why?

I'd compare it to "And One Last Thing" also written by Molly Harper and narrated by Amanda Ronconi. Both books feature Harper's expert wit and Ronconi's ability to bring the characters to life. Both stories feature a strong female lead with a romantic struggle. If you haven't listened to "And One Last Thing", I highly recommend it!

Any additional comments?

Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi are my favourite author/narrator combo!

Nicholas Sparks on steroids!!!

Funny, sarcastic, funny, fast read, funny, sexy, funny, sharp, funny, charming, funny, educational, funny, wacky, funny. Have you ever thought about squirrel genitalia? Did I mention that the book is FUNNY?

You can read about Sadie Hutchins and Josh Vaughn in the synopsis of the book but that does not let you in on another great character, Kelsey, the secretary, who is also very funny with her original and quirky ways of solving problems.

I knew what was coming but it was fun to ride along on the adventure to see how the journey unfolded. I had to force myself to put the book down and get some shut eye. I’d read the book again just because it is so funny.

This is definitely a chick book like the rest of Molly Harper’s books but I do love her writing. This is one of her best.

Cozy up because you won't put this one down

What made the experience of listening to My Bluegrass Baby the most enjoyable?

I listen to books while I work (don't judge) and this one had me snorting at my desk to the point I had to turn it off or risk evil looks from co-workers. Molly Harper's characters are endearing and hysterical.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sadie reminded me of a childhood friend and seemed so real I felt like asking her out for a beer after work.

What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?

Amanda was flawless bringing the characters to life.

Fun Light Reading

Cute and funny, but it didn't blow me away. I liked it fine, but it wasn't the kind of book that you can't put down.

cute but not the best

Cute little story, but not my favorite Molly Harper. Being from Kentucky, I did enjoy hearing about the different aspects of the state. The narrator was excellent.

laugh out loud

Usually I reserve 5-star reviews for SERIOUS stuff, but any work (performance + writing) that makes me laugh out loud this many times these days gets a 5+!

Molly Harper always delivers...

I love Molly Harper's style of writing. This book is charming, snarky and funny! Though a little predictable, it was a great easy and enjoyable story. I live in Kentucky and enjoyed the references to what our lovely state has to offer. If you want something light and easy to listen to on your journey, I recommend this one! Of course, Amanda Ronconi delivers her stories with aplomb! (Yes, I learned a new word and I'm trying to incorporate in my writings!) :)

A Contented Listen

There was a tad of angst at the end (not my style) but not too bad. It ended well and I smiled frequently along the way.

I love the team of Harper and Ronconi!

First Thought:

Vampire, werewolf or just plain human, Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi never fails to entertain me.

Why I listened:

Hello, it’s Harper and Ronconi.

The Story:

Saddie’s boss is getting ready to retire and what should have been a sure thing for Saddie to get his position turns into a funny romance where she has to work with her competition for the Director position with the Kentucky Tourism Commission, Josh.

And of course there is an attraction between Josh and Saddie at first site until they find out who the other person is and then it’s a race to see which one can out do the other in childish pranks. But once they realize that the pranks are getting in the way of their work they call a truce and let the best man/woman for the job win. All the while they are falling for each other.

Final Thought:

I liked the reference to Harper’s other contemporary romance, And One Last Thing. Which if you are a Harper fan you should really give that one a read as well. I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again. Paranormal or not the team of Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi is on the top of my auto-audio-buy list.

Favorite Quote:

“Besides if we went to jail I would sell you for cigarettes.”
