About this listen

The food truck craze has reached the charming coastal town of South Cove, California, but before Jill Gardner - owner of Coffee, Books, and More - can sample the eats, she has to shift gears and put the brakes on a killer....

Now that Kacey Austin has got her new gluten-free dessert truck up and running, there's no curbing her enthusiasm - not even when someone vandalizes the vehicle and steals her recipes. But when Kacey turns up dead on the beach, and Jill's best friend, Sadie, becomes the prime suspect, Jill needs to step on it to serve the real killer some just desserts.

Another fun book from Lynn Cahoon! I read her first book but then discovered them on audible. Some books are hard to listen to but not these. The narrator has a wonderful voice and I like the way she does the extra voices of characters. Aunt Jackie is one of my favorite.

Fun!

This was an entertaining addition to a pretty good series. I think I would like it better if I read the book instead of listened to it. The narrator isn't suited for this story.

Pretty Good

When her best friend’s boyfriend gets involved in geocaching Jill and Greg are automatically going to be doing double dates. Justin is like kid in a candy shop. The the President of the club is murdered and Jill has to prove a friend didn’t do it. Great series

Geocaching can be deadly.

There sure are a lot of annoying people in this town! This one was definitely not her best book because of it. Even her boyfriend is controlling and quick to criticize her. He doesn't even act like he wants to spend time alone with her. Interfering with police investigations also doesn't seem like something a mature attorney would be doing. I hope the next book gets back on track. So far I would still recommend it.

This was good but not great

Liking this series. The characters are becoming more realistic. The writing does become a bit slow, and then pulls back to a good pace . I appreciate that the language is clean and there are no steamy romance scenes. The plot has just enough twists. And occasionally I chuckle.

Any additional comments?

I enjoy all the books in this series. This one was no different.

Worth the listen

Please reconsider the high pitch and shortness of the Aunt Jackie character. She has not bothered me in other stories. In this book I literally skipped over her parts due to the voice characterization!

I was pleasantly surprised when geocaching played a role in this Tourist Trap series! As a geocacher myself, it was fun to see this storyline pop up in the plot. As usual, I enjoyed this book by Lyn Cahoon very much. It may not be Hitchcock, but she does a good job balancing the story and the characters. This is a good fun read, and goes at a delightful pace. I just want to know why Jill and Greg aren't engaged yet.
