About this listen

“You’re a Wizard, Har—err, Ian.”

Those were the words spoken by an old man, inside a book that Ian read. But being a wizard was something that Ian never expected or asked for. He was happy to learn that magic was real, and that he could do it! But now, that comes with a huge responsibility. The Darkbeasts were sent by someone.

But who? Was it someone who knew his secret? That he was the first known wizard in existence in over 2,000 years? Some people don’t like that idea very much, because the last wizard, Merlin, had made their lives sheer hell. Throw in a school full of females, three stunning women who are ensuring that his eyes (and other parts!) aren’t wandering elsewhere, and more than 3.4 million people he can’t control, but for whom he is responsible and has oversight, and you have some fun times.

Ian is about to learn there is a significant flaw in the Stone of Truth, one that even the great Merlin himself could not foretell.

This series contains the unabridged text, mayhem, monster girls, lots of tails, and magic the likes of which have not been seen in ages from a magician.

The book was amazing

So out of pure curiosity I hope the author reads this but is that theme park world Multiversal Theme Park (MTP) from M. E. Thorne’s dungeon delving for loot and levels? That would be wild.

Pleased with the story

Love the magi tech take on Merlin and authorian legend. Excited to see how the story unfolds. It would be cool to see at some point how Author ties into Ian’s bloodline, as well as the angels. It would also be cool to see an adventure related to him making contact with other thorgians.

Excellent... But

I loved the story. Only that plot points and information seems to change between books, and sometimes chapters.

Great sequel to the first book

Really enjoyed the first book and the sequel was not disappointing. The story was fun with many twists and turns, and the narrators were fantastic.

Outstanding

With the exception of a few grammatical mistakes and mispronunciations. These are the extra words needed lol.

Has a worse Memory than Toriyama

I like the concept of this story but man alive can he not keep plot points and events straight in his story.

For example something that The Principle tells Ian not to tell anyone in the first book because it would be bad is revealed as a surprise to her in this book. Or his ship AI says he edited out something important from a recording of them getting info from someone and then the cast is surprised he knows about that something important that they want hidden a few chapters later. At another part he mentions driving his bosses crazy from needing to move in order to think better, however he only worked for his Uncle prior to becoming a magic user and his Uncle (named Vernon which made me roll my eyes at the similarity to a certain other abused by his uncle magic boy) HATED his guts just for existing not because he would walk in circles to think.

This problem was around during the first book but seems far more prevalent here. I have listened to other books by this author and these problems were not in those books and I hope they are not in any of the other interesting books by him that I have noticed.

Expected more the first book was good second book skipped around a lot called to tie up lose ends
Duplicate dialogue in the story didn’t really include the girls very much
Narrators did a great job as usual with these two enjoyed listening to them very much
