About this listen

Aileen has a few rules for her life. Do her job and go home safe. Keep the supernatural world away from her human family. Stay off the vampire radar. And, above all, don't get involved in spook politics.

But when Liam comes back into town bringing a mystery that threatens the life she's built, she finds every closely guarded rule flying out the window as she sinks ever deeper into the supernatural world.

Ultimately, it may be the people she loves the most who pay the price in the high-stakes game that vampires call life.

Just gets better and better!

I am loving this heroine and I find her very entertaining. I just love how she is this weak vampire yearling who has no issues with standing up to all these powerful beings. You can see she is creating a lot of enemies but also a lot of respect for her "give no craps" attitude.

There is still not romance, however, I think I see a spark starting to form. I'm hoping I'm right because I really like the idea of her with this guy. These two are already a big part of the entertainment, along with these mysteries she's having to solve in each book. I'm gonna jump right into book #3.

Huge Fan of T.A. White.

This is just one of those series that sucks you in and you keep listening well past bedtime. T.A. White is fast becoming one of my favorite authors along with Ilona Andrews (whom I recommend if you like this author.) I look forward to the next book in this series, which I have already downloaded. No sniveling heroine here, only kick ass ones with attitude. Narrator was good, she has snarky down pat.

This series sucks you in!

I absolutely love T.A. White's books. I put off reading this series because it was involving vampires. I'm kicking myself for not trusting the brilliance of one of my favorite authors.

Aileen Travers is a witty, kick--- heroine that lives by her rules. Three vamps want her to join the fold, but she isn't having it. I totally love the chemistry between Aileen and Liam. I can't wait to see how their story unfolds.

Push-Pull on main character

Narrator does a good job, sometimes sounds a bit slurry or slow but still good.
The story is a bit of a different take from your usual vampire story, I like it but have conflict with the main character:
I think she gets away with too much that makes the story a tiny bit unrealistic, a bit too much of a chip on her shoulder and a bit too self absorbed and is a jerk more often than needed.
On the other hand, I love that she isn’t a doormat, stands up for the ones she cares about and for herself.
The ending of this book was great! While some of it was predictable it was done in such a clever way that I really respect it.

Didn’t want to pause!

Great book! Normally sequels are so-so, but this was as funny as the first. Highly recommend!

Entertaining.

Entertaining. The story line is good enough to make the reader like the characters. The narrator is believable and makes the story flow easily.

Petulant baby snobbery turned up to eleven.

I disliked Aileen in the last book, but god i didn't think she would get this much worse. 2 hours in and i was begging for Liam to rip her entitled head off so we could get a better protagonist. Her holier than thou attitude is beyond any kind of comprehension. She literally thinks she is sooooo much better than every one else. Even though she gets constantly tricked or manipulated because she does her utmost to keep herself ignorant and weak as possible. There isn't a single side character in these awful books that actually likes her and she whines so much about every little damn thing that she actually starts to contradict herself. Whoever T.A. White is, they should be embarrassed that they keep dragging the military into this. There is zero chance that anyone like this would have made a single day in basic training let alone three years. Maybe the Army should sue for the defamation of character that this stain of a character puts on the whole of the military branch. i for one will not support this any longer i will be getting my money back.
