mixed bag

The story has its moments but the main character is too stupid to live. I’m surprised she didn’t spend half the book falling down when running away from monsters.

Interest increased.

For me, this story had a slow start. I had to relisten to a few chapters @ the beginning, because I would mentally wander off. Once I got through the first 3-4 chapters, my interest really peaked. So much so, that I rewound, several times to relisten to a few of the hilarious parts! I listen to it while driving, & have had more than 1 person look @ me oddly @ a red light/stop sign as I'm cracking up! They probably thought that I had escaped the loony bin! Good storyline so much so that I'm on her 2nd book now. I now see why Ms. B, authors Mom, is so proud of her!

Couldn't get enough

Great series!!! I had to listen twice because once wasn't enough!! Looking forward to Book 7!!

Great characters and storyline

First book I’ve read/listened to of Seana Kelly’s and I truly enjoyed it. Loved the characters and how the evolve throughout the book and the storyline was great, lots of twists and turns and a complete page turner.

Pleasantly surprised

This book was recommended to me as I was looking for a respectful relationship between male and female main characters. I enjoy it very much, definitely wasn’t what I was expecting.

New Twist on Old Tales

I really liked it. I like the usual creatures with crazy twists. I loved all the pop culture references.

Performance deserves 10 stars!

Samantha Desz brought the heroine to life. Her voice reflected all of the facets of Sam Quinn---snarky, sardonic, and vulnerable. Just brilliant.

The story was good, too, though the heroine kept making poor choices that put her in danger. I especially loved the creative world building; I really want to go to the Slaughtered Lamb Bookstore & Bar. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. More audiobooks, please!!

Loved it! Great characters and great storyline. I could most definitely stick with this series!

Good start to the series

I checked this out because it was included with membership. All reviews said slow start so I had prepared for it. It wasn’t until chapter 13 that I finally got into the story. There was a lot of character introducing and world building in this one. Since it’s a series I am not counting it as a negative. Check it out! It’s pretty good.

Good opener to the series

I accidentally worked backward and listened to the spin off series, which I think is better. But this is just the first book - and it’s fine. A good intro to the world and characters etc, if a little choppy. Totally enjoyable and I’m going to definitely keep going w the series!
