About this listen

Contains three complete, novel-length books in the Middle Falls Time Travel series.

The Vigilante Life of Scott McKenzie

Scott McKenzie’s birthday is the first number pulled in the draft of 1969. The next thing he knows, he is in Vietnam, badly wounded. After the hell of a yearlong stay at a VA hospital, Scott tries to rebuild his life but descends in alcohol and drug abuse. When he dies of an overdose, he wakes up on his grandparent’s couch, still wounded from the war. Eventually, Scott decides to use his unusual time travel to stop violence before it happens. No serial killer is safe, because Scott knows when and where they will strike, and he will be there waiting.

The Reset Life of Cassandra Collins

Cassandra Collins hit the birth lottery - she is the daughter of the wealthiest family in Middle Falls. And yet, at 18, she is forced to make a choice; to strike out on her own to attend the college she wants or choose a life of sheltered safety. As so many would, she chooses safety but always wonders what her life would have been like. At the end of a safe, contented life, she passes away, then opens her eyes on the cusp of that same decision.

The Tribulations of Ned Summers

A murder mystery in Middle Falls! Ned’s first date is a memorable one, because the girl he goes out with his found murdered, and he is the last person to see her. He isn’t arrested for the crime, but the town convicts him with public opinion. Ned moves out of town and lives a hermit’s life in the forest. When he grows old and dies, he opens his eyes on the day before that fateful date. Can Ned unwind the mystery and stop the murder?

A Great Series

I love the whole concept and execution of this series of books. Every life has its own lesson to be learned. I'm intrigued as to how the writer is able to have us engaged in these characters even down to the daily routines of their lives. This is difficult for a writer to do. I feel that the narrator does a great job in keeping a calm and wholesome tone even when dealing with gruesome themes, I think it is important to the overall spiritual meaning of the books. I feel that because I've read several of the first books in this series I began to drag through these three books, especially the second. I don't even remember the second book and will have to go back to reread/ listen. Of all three in this group I enjoyed the last the most,.though the first had quite a bit of action to enjoy. I feel like I'm done with this series of books for now but could lick them up again after some time.

Extraordinary narrations.

Extraordinary narrations and extremely well-written stories. Perfectly enjoyable and perhaps the best time-travel trilogy by this author thus far.

I love the Middle Falls Time Travel series!

I've been reading and listening to the series in sequence, and each of the stories has held my interest to the final sentence. I especially love the Author's Notes at the end.

Thank you, Shawn.

Best series ever!

I fell in love with this series of books immediately! I really want a follow up on Micheal Hollister though. I hated him during the first book and didn’t want a redemption for him ever. But then his story ultimately became my favorite to date of the series. Having said that, I cannot handle the cadence the reader has in book 8 for Cassandra. I had to stop and start that one a few different times to give myself a break from her voice. But I think that is the only criticism I have!

AMAZING SERIES

I love this entire series. This is my second time through this series. Problem was, I got almost all the first 12 books via Audible Plus for free. So of course they pull back the books right when I start a relisten of the series. But it is so good, I didn't hesitate to buy the books again. Thankfully they had these Omnibus books.

Books 7-9 - Series is always good.

The problem with this series has always been a poor value (relatively speaking) as the books are 6-7 hours each. This three pack is a no brainer and I will get the next one for sure. I have read all but one of these up to book 9 now.

Book 2 is still the masterpiece in the series (gotta read 1 to get it all)

As for this box set.
Book 7 is great. Always great characters and back stories and added action in book 7 is a new twist. A bit of a tease as it hinted at new outside forces at work and never expanded on it.

Book 8 is decent, very different and written for a person of great meaning to the author. Great characters as always.

Book 9 is a character mentioned in other books (including 7) and you learn the backstory for that. A bit frustrating as crime stuff can be when you want to scream at the book "Why are you doing it the hardest dumbest way when you could just .....etc etc..." - Nice conclusion though and lesson.

7 is the best of these 3. Very strong.

Entertaining and interesting

The stories are good. With the omnibus series it’s can be a bit annoying when things are over explained. The authors notes read at the end of each book seem like an ego boost for the author and are annoying.

Novels 7-9

Absolutely wonderful storylines that keeps you wanting to know more about more diverse characters storyline. Very creative and it's just absolutely amazing how the characters come together. It makes you wonder what would happen if this could really happen. If you could get or have another chance to choose a different life, what would you do? Would it be better, would you make it worse, would you survive?
It makes you wonder.
Great Narrators as well.
I absolutely recommend this series of novels.
